The Hotel was of 2 buildings. Traditional Chinese and difficult to travel along corridors. Room was spacious. Breakfast at Cafe was of reasonably good quality although the bread should be improved. I liked the fruits - many kinds. The hot meal was invariably chinese. I would love to have some beef steak. As regards tea, the choice was very limited. WIFI was free but it was so slow. I could not forward attachments even with 163.com.

Room Tip: You can speak Cantonese. Conciege for baggage keeping is quite convenient.

I have been staying here for the last six years that I have been travelling to Guangzhou. Whilst it has never been outstanding it has been comfortable and convenient. This stay has been anything but. On arrival in our room it was dirty. Food marks on the couch, peanut shells on the floor, curtains hanging and not hooked onto the rail. The shower drain had a very unpleasant odour. The toilet did not flush. I called housekeeping and the toilet was fixed. The next day same story toilet not flushing, shower drain smell. Phoned reception and complained. Was moved to a new room. It was definitely cleaner but the marble floor on the shower had a huge chunk missing on the side. On returning to the room after the day out once again toilet would not flush. Called reception and was told I must move rooms again. Refused and insisted that toilet gets repaired. Not happy at all

This hotel offers adequate value for the price. But definitely has some BIG drawbacks for a business or leisure traveler.

The hotel is old. But still is quite glamorous but has definitely seen better days. The breakfast is large but lacks quality, the rooms are adequate.

Some big drawbacks absolutely zero English in the hotel. Makes it impossible to find out how to get anywhere, do anything- makes this an unsuitable hotel for any foreign or non-Chinese speaking guests. The concierge may be the worst in Asia...

The room is old, by acceptable. But has no light. Good luck doing your make up in here.

The wifi is impossibly slow. You cannot make a WhatsApp call or use any websites. Big Drawback for business traveller

In short, I wouldn't recommend this hotel unless your a Chinese traveler and immune to mosquito bites!

Our first hotel in Beijing on our first visit to China. It was a perfectly nice hotel in a convenient and safe location. It could use an upgrade, as it was a little tired looking, especially when the elevator doors opened onto our floor and we were immediately greeted by a door badly in need of paint. That being said, we weren't expecting a luxury hotel nor did we have any special needs or requests, so it was absolutely fine for us, and it met our needs. Our room/bathroom was just right, clean, good lighting; the beds and pillows were comfortable (nice duvets) We liked the location of the hotel, we were around the corner from a hutong and enjoyed exploring and experiencing a little night market. The hotel's breakfast buffet was excellent, lots of choices for Chinese/Western appetites! The servers/staff were friendly. Our window looked out onto a large intersection of streets; we enjoyed watching the early morning activities as the city came to life.
