Just a functional hotel-don't get too fussed if it does not meet the expectations,
Great location-but that is just about it.
Breakfast -okayish.
Old decor and outdated furniture.
Reception lounge always crowded.
Has free wi-fi.-But very slow connection.
Noisy Air-conditioners.Old worn out carpets
Time to refurbish the hotel in a big way

Room Tip: There is a handy supermarket in the basement level.

I am a hotelier for over 15 years, I fully understand the hotel buisness, I have traveled and stayed in Hotels,Motels,Lodges name it. I have ever experience such poor experience like this one night stay, I had to move the next day and stay next door with intercon with double rate rather than go through a horrible experience. I will try to be brief and bullet points what went wrong :
*** Check in 45 minutes (if you dont believe it, just go and sat in the lobby and watch it)
*** 1 out of 3 guest will experience a challenge with reservation, allocation .. be awar that they will try to charge you extra for a Haram view.
*** room are dirty, flity and in my case the towels were not in the room, AC not working. I had to go to the corridor to collect my own towels and sleepers as well as little tube of shampoo.
**** AC was reported at 17h00 to come back after al Isha prayer and nothing was done. I had to spend another 45minutes before they offered me a room move.
*** This room was 9003 again it was a smoking room which i have used from midnight til 3h30 am time for al Fajr. there after breakfast time which was another drama that i can not find the word to disrible and I wish i could have found a macdonald it would have been a five stars restaurant than this outlet.
*** bottom line better book in the haram hall and used their bathroom, you can save your self the hassel even thugh when you go to visit these holy places money has no value.

the only good thing about the hotel was its location and thats about it .... every other thing was pathetic. the staff was extremely rude and seemed to be very inexperienced... breakfast was included in my package but when i arrived i got to know that breakfast is not included ... the washroom was really small as compare to other 5star hotels.... the room service was very slow .. the food took ages to come and once it arrived it was literally cold and when i complained, the only response was " boss it is hot " as if i was lying .......!!! and wowwwwwwwwwwwww no door bell..!!! and i could even hear the kids jumping on their beds in the neighbouring room which was really uncomfortable.... i will never stay in this hotel again...

We stayed at Raffles Makkah Palace for 5 days in atwo bed presenditial suite , and came to this hotel for three nights, my GOD what a fall of standards it was! Check in was lengthy, basically every customer was shouting at the reception desk! We got a room which was quad in haram tower B ( no haram views - but thats fine, i would rather be at the Haram than have views). The room was so smelly and filthy, I complained that it was a smoking room but the housekeeping guy was adament that it wasnt smell of smoke etc. Anyway i deceided i wanted to change the room, i made 5 calls to reception and they kept promising to send someone up to switch my rooms but no one came until i went downstairs fuming and complained to the manager! roomw a so dirty i could swear it had never been cleaned. The second room was also small and bathroom was just shower no bath tub, it was so small, you didnt know whether you were standing in the shower or in the WC. the air con was so nosiy and smelly , and there were faeces dry skid marks on toilet. no one ever responded to your calls at reception, if someone ever did answer, they would flog you off to another extension. A kettle was in the room, but no mugs (they didnt provide that), no tea bags, nothing. It must be the worst so called 5 star hotel i have ever stayed in. The guy who used to clewan our room really was the only decent person in that hotel, and he told us that the hotel was desperately underr staffed and always full of customers and they couldnt cope. I cant beleive the king of saudia actually owns this hotel!
Location wise, we were one minute away from the Haram Ladies side. One life down and two steps away, that was awesome. But then there are hotels surrounding every door of the Haraam then why would i saty here ever again???? Never, i would rather get a sleeping bag and camp in the grounds of the haram then cringe in a smelly hotel room, with unprofesional staff! Not recommended
