This is a lovely guesthouse within walking-distance from main attractions (15 minutes to Church on Spilled Blood; 20 minutes to Hermitage) and restaurants. The guesthouse is inside a residential building. Staff at reception are very helpful, speak English and are available 24/7.
The room is very spacious, comfortable and so was is bathroom. The guesthouse doesn't have a restaurant, but breakfast is brought to the bedroom at a time decided by the guest: simple breakfast, but various options to choose from.
Overall, I'd recommend this place as it is conveniently located, has lovely staff, is clean and comfortable.

The Art Hotel Mokhovaya is very good for anyone with work or friends in its immediate area. It occupies the ground floor of a old Petersburg residential block set inside a courtyard, perhaps about 15 rooms total. The good news is that the staff is excellent and the small size ensures a personal touch. Very good English speakers. While there is no room service, nearby restaurants abound, and the hotel has a meal delivery service from outside. A generous breakfast, served in-room, is included; tea and coffee can be ordered any time of day or night. Hotel rooms vary in size but are uniformly clean and elegant.

Among the few downsides:
--the hotel is really best for the neighbourhood; it is a good 15 minute walk to either Gostinyi Dvor or Chernyshevskii metro stations.
--the older structure, thick walls, and interior courtyard location made some cell communication difficult;
--for those in the smaller rooms off the reception area, noise is an issue both from the reception area itself, as well as between rooms. The larger rooms off the opposite side of the corridor are generally quieter.

PS. The same hotel hosts an "In Box" capsule hotel arrangement inside the same courtyard.

Stayed there just for one night but liked enormously the athmosphere of the place! It is situated in a small court in the center of Spb. Very close to Letnii sad! Room looked good and rather big! Reception girls were really helpful! Breakfast was pretty rich! I was fed up in 5 minutes!
There is a parking place for some cars so you can feel comfy if you travel with your own car!

First about the staff - it was so friendly, helpful and nice!
Thank you all, girls!
The hotel itself in fact is the first floor of the apartment building converted into the small 14 rooms hotel.
But it is cosy, very well located and very professionally managed.
We really enjoyed it.

We loved our stay at Art Hotel Mokhovaya. Only a few rooms here, comfortably appointed. Helpful staff, English speaking. It is almost impossible to find the first time! If you get dropped off near the marquee of the St Petersburg Academy of Dramatic Arts, then keep walking north on Mokhovaya, you'll walk past a gated court, duck into the next entranceway on your left into the courtyard-car park. You'll see the lighted sign for Art Hotel on the side of the building. Enter around to your left. Tiny lobby is behind the door to your left at the top of the stair marked with an "A"

Don't let this complicated description deter you! Great value, cozy, breakfast served in room daily. What's not to like?
