The position of this hotel cannot be beaten. It overlooks the Kremlin in a stunning fashion. It’s also on top of one of the main metro intersections.
It feels like faded glory and it was comfortable - all the staff throughout the hotel were delightful. Our room was large, as was the bathroom. There were lots of bathroom toiletries, the free water was generous and there’s a turn down service in the evening.
The hotel bar was slightly lacking in atmosphere but, again, friendly service.
I’ve knocked a star off because the breakfast was chaotic, every morning. The breakfast room is not large enough for the number of guests and the buffet was poor.
We went into the Ritz and the Four seasons hotels and decided that the National has far more charm.
We enjoyed it. More
