Description: Vanil is status. Personalities of the owners, Arkady Novikov, Stepan Mikhalkov, Fedor Bondarchuk, a famous Russian director, interior from a famous architect Juri Andreev, the view from the window, altogether creates the atmosphere of the restaurant, which is the atmosphere of success. It was not without reason that right from the beginning the restaurant won the popularity of a mature successful audience. Furthermore, saying “Vanil” we mean Bohemia, secular audience, elite. The movie about a beautiful life. This is the right place to partake in a feeling of belonging to this state of mind. Everything stars from the interior. Juri Andreev in one his interviews says: "The space of the restaurant is universal. In the interior as to the form, untroubled by any pronounced history, you can put any desired content. The interior is fashionable without any intellectualizing. It's a loft studio. This is one integrated area, of inward and outward openness. It's decorations of a modern play”. “Vanil” is current. A place solely for successful people. And the loser should be left in tears: this city doesn't believe in tears, it believes in success. Restaurant “Vanil” opened July 5, 2001.

Been there late evening to have tea&coffee. Nice spacious place, appealing interior, quite expensive items on the menu, but worth that money. we drank coffee & tea along with small pie with strawberries. Smashing ))

Definitely come back for the whole menu trying )

You would have thought that fashion models work there! Place looks fancy, the prices they charged did not match the quality of the food or the level of service - had to constantly ask for olive oil/butter and bread was charged for each piece consumed. There are better restaurants in Moscow!

Elegant and classy atmosphere, superb food, poor reception from the metre (the angry woman at the door) and inexperts waiters.
When we walked in this restaurant the the metre that speak NO english tried to explain (in a stressed and unpleasant way) to us the we must leave our jacket at the wardrobe and then 4 people of the staff had an kind of argument about where we should sit....
We ordered a mushroom risotto and a another started with mushroom that were really good: super tasty! Our compliments to.the chef!
Overall the experience was good and we are curious to try others plates from the menu! Our suggestions to the staff is relax, take some.english classes and improve your internal comunication and organizations

Everywhere in the world, especially in big cities, there are places, where food means more then just a mix of products grilled, boiled, fried etc.
There are places where you can enjoy the atmosphere, the feeling of care and enjoy the esthetic of colors and tastes that are combining the melody and the painting.
This is really the place like Vanil, whew one can love being treated like a visitor of the theater.
Just love that place!
Go and try yourself.
Not cheapest place, be prepared

Vanil is quite an expensive restaurant, but it is definately a kind of place where you will never regret the time and money you spend. Being a symbol of a pre-crisis sumptuous Moscow, Vanil has actually showed its ability to evolve and change, staying at the same time one of Moscow's major "Grand restaurants".

What makes it particularly special is that this place has a rich and vibrant history. During the 2000s Vanil was visited by politicians and celebrities from all over the world and became a reference of an elitist and successful tribe.

And today Vanil is a restaurant where one can enjoy outstanding service and 'cuisine'. If you visit Moscow and want to have most of it, you should definately foresee spending an evening at Vanil. The history of the place, its interior design and food make it a special place in Moscow.
