Lots of noise, strange men coming and going and scantilly clad very young women all about...oh and room was complete with a red lamp in the window?!

had 3 nights here...location is actually good for getting to all local attractions and easy acces to metro line.

breakfast was nice and served in room(thank goodness)

Didn't get much sleep and found a few cockroaches...overall it did what it said on the tin...cheap rough and ready with no frills.

I have stayed at Room #13 :) .Hotel receptionist is very friendly, helpful and speaking very good english .Hotel is 15-20 Min to Red Square and subway station by walking. If you are looking for a place below $50/night.I believe Basilica hotel is the best options compare to other hostels/ no-star hotels. I strongly recommend if you are just looking for a cheap place to sleep.

Room Tip: Choose Room #13 . I believe this room is mostly empty that's why its bathroom is in a very good condition.

not what you would call a hotel just a place you could get your head down.Constant noise through the night with building work going on.No where near ten minutes walk to red square more like half an hour at a good pace.Rooms where not cleaned the four days i stayed.Very basic

Room Tip: If you are thinking of booking a family room make sure you dont get given a room called the Dacha or as some call it the little house on the prarie it is basically a cuboard with a ladder going up to a mattress on the floor.Unless you are a window cleaner or love going up ladders and banging your head on the cieling keep away

Located in the heart of Moscow, 10min walking to Red Square and the main sights of the city, is a simple hostel, but very clean and organized, the price is excellent for the location of the hostel in moscow and have a supermarket 24h very close.

Room Tip: stay in a single room!

What shines out about the Basilica Hotel is the fantastic customer service of all the staff - particularly 'Maria' who I bombarded with emails before we even went !

Maria arranged us a shuttle taxi there and back . The handsome taxi driver met us outside arrivals with a huge board and was very polite on both in and out journeys .

The Basilica hotel was cheap but comfy enough . We had a family (dacha) room and it was like something from 'Little house on the prairie' as you pulled down a wooden loft ladder to get up to the mezzanine floor where our double bed was just a mattress on the floor . Our teenage son slept below on a bed settee . The room was for up to 4 people but I don't see that as practical - 3 people was enough . I also wasn't keen on how dark the room was due to the tiny window - it was practically impossible to distinguish night from day ! The decor could have done with an update too .

We had our towels changed once in three days . The heating was very efficient and there was free tea , water and coffee on each landing . The small bathroom had a quadrant shower which worked very well and the cubicle was surprisingly roomy .

The central location was great and once we'd got used to the loft ladder experience we were happy . Would certainly use again on a budget break
