The conflict and inconsistencies of your check-in handlers are truly jaw dropping and disappointment beyond belief. A day before the check-in schedule I called the following (several times) for confirmations:
1. How many rooms were booked under my name.
2. Are guests (2 additional family members) get charged of their stay?
3. Is security deposit necessary before checking-in?
From the first call I got informed that only one room was booked. Guests get charge of their stay plus 800 for the compulsory breakfast and security deposit is not necessary. However, cash basis will be applied for any consumption upon check out.
Kinda skeptical of their answer I decided to call again and this time they informed me 2 rooms WAS actually booked. Guests are NOW waived of charges as breakfast is NOT compulsory. Security deposit remained to be unnecessary.
For the 3rd call as I was still baffled and anxious of their final say, I could hear them on the other line like they were in a huddle manner discussing who said this and that as not sure of their answers. Finally they all agreed on the latter say.
Now comes the actual day. We were standing infront of a front desk receptionist stunned of her stern speech saying breakfast is compulsory for guests and security deposit cash or card are strictly required upon check in.
Holy cow! Were all these employees diagnose with double personality or just plain dense?
Wasn't there any notes on the system or piled-up convos recorded before everything goes down the drain? The breakfast issue was resuscitated after further verifications from each other's incompetence but the security deposit were declined as part of the deal. Where are the nauseating recordings btw?
To save myself from potential insanity I gave my card and the receptionist swipe immediately in split second before I could even say a word. She said I shouldn't worry as nothing was charged as she showed me the 8k receipt from my card hahaha.
I'm in a bit second to go mental of their scamming prowess. She explained it's a floating precharge in case of any consumptions were made. I would have gave cash if coercion persist, at least that way I could get back the cash upon check out.
My credit limit was deducted 8k and after talking to this guy employee who handles the issue in an argumentative manner as he firmly cited 15 days refund process ended his lovely demeanor by saying it was the bank's option to expedite the process. I called my bank and said otherwise. I called again and a female hotel employee assured me to accelerate the process and it did.
On the positive note, rooms are spotlessly clean and i believe security employees are cordial and pleasant. However, some check-in handlers I could say are legitimately incompetent, they made it like the hotel is a testing ground for OJTs, some possesses poor communication and comprehension skills.
The 5star hotel defeats its physical look/facilities, atmosphere and price by hiring below average handlers. It's now far-fetched to be called on that level of star rank.
