I expect a 4 star hotel to do better than this. Surprisingly, it is not really up to my expectation and I am not a very fussy eater. The lunch buffet has a variety of good selections but the quality of the food needs vast improvement. Since this restaurant is located in Glorietta Mall, it is pretty convenient for shopping purposes. Holiday Inn better buck up to keep up with the competitions.

Holiday Inn is a 4 stars hotel. For that, i have to judge it based on 4 stars standards. That said, i saw a plaque near the front desk that says it's 5 star.

anyway, so let's stay with 4 stars. As far as 4 star hotel buffets go, it's the WORST i have seen.

1.) sushi... the sushi was okay. nothing special. but when sushis from cheaper buffets are better than theirs, I think that's a big problem.

2.) salad station.. they have a few sad looking salad plates in that section. the remeeding salad was a penne salad they had. But anyone can make a macaroni salad.

3.) fresh cooked section. they had a burger bar, a grill, and a noodle soup section. the best section of all was the soup section. Never have i gone to a buffet restaurant and said, "try their soup section, it's the best!" or maybe i was so disappointed in everything else that i decided to give the soup section a try?

the grill section.. they had barbecue, some chicken wings, and some fish slices and some squid. i'm sorry, everything that came out of it was bad. the chicken wings were par boiled, the fish was so dry, the barbecue (local version of bbq) was dry and tasteless, the squid... was just plain rubbery.

they had baby back ribs, that was good. but they did not clean out the tough parts first before cooking.

Burger bar... it was alright. :). I could say more bad things about it, but i'll give it a pass.

Btw, they serve humus, but no pita bread in sight.

Holiday Inn is an international brand with international standards. Hopefully, they can read this criticism, and take it as a reason to improve upon their quality. However, i have read bad reviews from last year and nothing seems to have been improved.

As far as 4 star hotels buffet go, this is the worst i have had and this falls below 4 stars standards. Actually, they have the bones of a 4 star buffet, but they just need to better prepare their food.

I am very sorry for such a negative review given.

the staff was great. :) no complaints!

Good: Many choices (Lunch buffet) Japanese, Filipino, Italian, Chinese, American, etc., Can reserve tables for group meetings, has a veranda for smokers, etc. Near Glorietta mall, within the CBD, etc. flavorful, the price is right! :) etc.

Bad: Can't think of anything

My cousin and I celebrated our birthday dinner at Flavors (Holiday Inn & Suites Makati) last Saturday Sept.3.

We had a very nice table near the buffet and the ambience was cozy, warm and inviting. The staff of the hotel were very accommodating and friendly. Kudos as well to Flavors servers and chefs!

The sinigang na salmon was very good! Decent salad station (make your own Caesar... authentic tasting hummus...), good pizza, good Japanese station with the usual tuna and salmon sashimi plus some temakis and makis. The carving station although very limited, was particularly good too! Their Nasi Goreng and Kare-kare are spot on! One of the tastiest I've had.

Their dessert station is definitely a highlight! Crepe Samurai!!!! (although it looks different from Jeepney InterContinental's.. it was very good!) Creme brulee plus bread and butter pudding were so good!

Pricing was just right and had a promo with a certain bank's credit card. Servers are attentive and nice. Chefs are inviting and friendly. Place was modern but homey. All in all it was a very good experience.

P.S. thanks for the birthday cakes!!! :) you guys rock

They have the best desserts!!! We've been here many many times and they never fail to impress us. They have few options for food but everything tastes great unlike any other buffet that has many options but only few are good.
