Had the most amazing Christmas dinner. Both the turkey and stuffing plus the ham and scalloped potatoes were fantastic. The dessert was a green tomato pie. We were skeptical but it was like a pudding cake with custard and caramel sauce. The hotel was beautifully decorated and atmosphere warm and inviting. Thank you much for such a wonderful Christmas meal! Great job!

My husband and I stayed at the Panamonte Inn in Boquete for 3 nights. Our room was huge with a kind of rustic, old-world charm. The bed was a bit stiff, but comfortable. Our patio door opened to beautiful gardens. It was so quiet and peaceful. On our first night we saw a big spider crawling up the bed - had to kill it because we couldn't persuade it to exit the room; a little uneasy...on the watch out all night, lol - but nothing after that, so all good. I guess to be expected in this area. Great amenities in the bathroom and good water pressure. Wifi was free. Staff on the desk were friendly and helpful. Would recommend especially with a room and patio backing onto the gardens.

What a magical evening I spent with 2 new friends at Panamonte. We started out with drinks in front of the fire- place and then went for dinner in another building. All was perfect, the setting, decor, food, service and the highlight, for me personally, the Swedish connection! It has been run by a Swedish Family for a long time. Many famous people have been passing through over the years, I almost felt like one too, being Swedish myself!

I've heard that years ago Ingrid Bergman, John Wayne and Richard Nixon stayed here.
We have stayed there on 2 different occasions. Good location - close to downtown. The first time we stayed we were in a cottage type room - very large and comfy. We had our own patio with 2 tables and chairs. The second time we had a newer room - absolutely beautiful. Staff members were very accommodating. Great food. I would recommend having drinks in the bar and then eating in the dining room because the service for dinner is better than the bartenders bringing in food from the restaurant.

After hiking volcanos, cycling in the humid cloud forests, and sipping coffee all day, you definitely want to come home to a comfortable place. The Panamonte fits that bill. In contrast to much of what we've seen in Panama (which is often written off as "Well what do you expect? You're in Panama!), this hotel offers first-class service and responsiveness. Everyone we asked anything of -- from our servers to the front desk staff -- were on top of it and problem solved. The grounds and hotel reflect its history (in a good way). The room was huge by today's hotel standards and well appointed. Wi-fi is speedy. Roaring fireplaces in the bar. Easy walk to town and access to all of Boquete's natural wonders. We stayed here 5 nights -- my only complaint is that they serve the SAME breakfast every day (eggs, potatoes, choice of meat) unless you want to pay for something off the menu instead. Seems a little silly not to offer variety to guests staying at the hotel. But overall, a great experience.

Room tip: Room #8 is large and quiet, faces gardens with deck chairs.
