When arrived in the Al Wadi Hotel to check in, we learned that we were given a free upgrade. Nice surprise.
Room was very comfortable and with direct access to the garden and swimming pool.
Lovely shower.
Restaurantbuffet was good, service good. Good breakfast buffet.
All in all good place to stay in Sohar, although the situation, near the busy roads could be considered a disadvantage. No traffic noise got through to the hotel though.

I have been staying in Al Wadi over the last 5 years. It is a decent hotel on the city of Sohar - you don't have a lot of mid-range hotels in Sohar and Al Wadi is probably the best choice in the range of 40-50 OMR/night. They have a well maintained swimming pool & rooms adjacent to the pool are newly renovated & are good. Rooms inside are smaller in size & their ambiance is pretty average.

The Lobby is designed in a traditional Omani way. Support staff are good. Ensure to keep Do not disturb tab in your door even if you are inside, as I had instances wherein the cleaning guys enter the room when the guest are still in. Buffet breakfast is good - both continental/Indian cuisine are available. Wifi speed is average.

Overall a good hotel for short business/leisure stays.

Room Tip: Ask for Deluxe rooms adjacent to Swimming pool- around 10 OMR higher than standard rooms but pretty good.

As the title suggests, it is treated as a money making machine and the management has not properly maintained the rooms. There was some smell in the room, The flooring was damaged, The rest rooms are just average. It is not value for money, The price must be substantially lowered or standard and maintenance must be enhanced. Could see lizards in hotel complex in the night.

The rooms, fittings etc. are just average. Power sockets not working, The pool is good, restaurant and menu is good, external look is good.

Room Tip: if possible avoid this hotel, spend some more and go in reputed hotels nearby

Went to Sohar, Oman for a short trip driving from Dubai, UAE. We ended staying staying at Wadi Hotel for the one night. It was Wednesday the 20th of July.

The hotel was built in the 1980s and very well maintained. It has four different bars/pubs serving alcohol. The can of beer is sold for about 4 USD with happy hours offer. Not sure how much that will be afterward but not that expensive.

The wi-fi services was not that good in the rooms and cuts off couple of times at night but very fast in the lobby area.

Breakfast was very limited with its varieties and about 10 USD per person.

The over all experience was good and would recommend it for others for short business trips with tight budget.

I was in this hotel for 2 weeks. Must say this hotel is really good. They have a good setup with 3 bars of different environment, clean swimming pool, good gym and wonderful room. The rooms are always clean and service is really good. The staff too are really polite.
Most important of all is the buffets. I have gone for the breakfast and dinner buffets everyday. They always have different varieties of arabic, continental and Indian cuisine. The desserts too were well prepared.
Highly recommend this hotel for business or tourists due to good rates and facilities in Sohar.
