Now becoming one of the best ballfields in Queens. Since its renovation, the park has become very popular. I was down several times over the winter and took these great photos

Since my last visit, the field has been completely rebuilt and repaired. There are many more things to do at the field, but I found many positive changes such as water fountains and garbage bins that were not their. Whitey Ford field is situated on one of the most beautiful spots in Astoria and I will play ball there!1

I was down here as a volunteer cleaning up the surrounding field last week.

I love coming down here and taking pictures of the waterfront behind the diamond. Over the years Whitey Ford Field has fallen into disrepair and the baseball diamond is in poor condition. Yet, the field is heavily used by hundreds of local residents and softball enthusiasts, including a coed softball league operated by Astoria Social.

Nevertheless, it's participants are devoted to its cleanup.
