This riad is located on a quit small side street in the center of Medina. The rooms are simple , clean and nice. The private shower and toilet are semi-separated from the room. Wi-fi inside our room was weak (as we have informed, this is the situation typical to Medina of Essaouira). The simplicity of the place is totaly compensated by the extremely helpful and friendly owner named Shakir with excellent command of English.
Shakir was even kind enough to walk with us to other side of the Medina in order to lead us to places that otherwise we couldn't find! Thanks to Shakir's advices and recommendations we have greatly improved our experience in Essaouira.

My stay at the Orange Cannelle was a spontaneous decision and on short notice. Nevertheless, I received a very warm welcome by Chakir, the owner. The riad is located in the middle of the medina at the end of a little quiet road. So within a minute you are right into the liveliness of this charming city but at the same time you can enjoy a calm night sleep and a relaxing time on their rooftop. The room, though small, was lovley and clean. One can see that Chakir and his wife put their heart into this place. The delicous breakfast was served on the nice roof terrace. I enjoyed very much the discussions with Chakir about the life in Essaouira and his experience of living in Morocco. He was very helpful and happy to pass on some excellent tips on restaurants, shops etc. which I appreciated a lot. Overall he and their kind staff (his wife was abroad) made me feel home from the very first moment. Shokran bizef et à la prochaine!

My family and I stayed at Riad Orange Cannelle for one night visiting Essaouira. The hosts gave us a warm welcoming and were very helpful with their suggestions. The riad itself is fairly basic but comfortable. There is no air-con but as the climate in Essaouira is gentler than elsewhere in Morocco, this isn't a problem.

The only area for improvement would be that the breakfast was quite plain. Our host had asked if we had any allergies and we told him that a member of our group is gluten and dairy-intolerant, but this information wasn't passed on to the staff member making breakfast and so there was nothing available for her.

Overall however, this riad is good value for money and the hosts are kind and welcoming.

Florence was very kind and helpful in her suggestions and directions around the Medina. The Riad is very clean and comfortable, in a convenient location for getting to the Medina, and removed far enough so that it was not at all noisy.
As Nkozel mentioned in the other review- rooftop breakfast was delightful! The night time host even prepared it early for us the morning of our flight out, which we very much appreciated! We will always remember our lovely time there, and I highly recommend this Riad to anyone!

We had an amazing stay in orange cannelle last march!

The riad is situated in a quiet area in the centre of the city, has lovely clean rooms and a great terrace on the roof.
But what made our stay truly exceptional were our hosts.
Florence and Shakir made sure we felt at home right away.
We had some excellent advice from Shakir and Florence on where to eat, grill your fish, get the best frozen yoghurt in town and the breakfasts they served us in the morning were the best way to start our day. Great couple who enjoy what they do, thanks for the great stay!
