After a bad experience in a Riad in Marrakech our stay at the riad Orange Canelle in Essaouira was just perfect.
Florence and Chakirs’ riad is a wonderful place. Clean, cozy, a great location, authentic and furnished with a lot of style.
Having arrived in the evening, Youssef gave us a real warm welcome and made us the best Moroccan tea we’ve had all holiday and which we peacefully drank on the lovely roof terrace.
Over the next couple of days we’ve got to meet Florence, Chakir and Afida as well. They made our stay in Essaouira just perfect. All 4 are very friendly and social people and always up for conversation or a fun chat. Florence, Chakir and Youssef gave us the best tips for in and around the city. And breakfast with Afida’s home made marmalade was great to start our day with.
We would have definitely stayed longer if we didn’t have to catch our flight back home. We recommend this place to anyone.

The french couple who runs it isveryniceand helpfull..trying their best..
BUT:we had a very small room witout even a chair.room never see the sunlight...
You do not feel like staying and relaxing in the room.
the window opens directly on the small street where we could be part of the conversation of the neighbours in the evening and night.
Unfortunately our neighbours in the riad were coughing
all night and we could hear all.
B/F is simple..no yaourts or eggs..but good
Clean small riad with small rooms..small price..but many inconvenience
We shifted to a hotel next to the beach and liked it..

Very nice, quiet riad in the heart of old Medina. Very plesant and host owners Floronce and Shakir made great efforts to do this riad very friendly and good for relax. Riad is very near to main square, old fortrees, reataraunts, and everything interesting you shoud see. Greetings to Floronce and Shakir from Srbija!

This hotel offers light, white and bright rooms just off one of the main drags of the medina. The service was amazing (maps, directions, suggestions, tea and biscuits on arrival!) and the owner is super friendly and always available to help with anything you need. Our room (no. 8) was one of the nicest we experienced in Morocco. Breakfast is a lovely affair served on the rooftop terrace. The freshly squeezed juice is accompanied by a HUGE pot of coffee and delicious bread, jam and crepes. The beds are comfy, the wifi is strong, the location is awesome - all the boxes are ticked. The price is a bit above budget range - but 100% worth it. We cannot see ourselves staying anywhere but here in Essaouira.

Room Tip: As with all riads, try and pick a room on a higher level to avoid reception noise.
