How do I begin to describe the series of unfortunate events that led me to leave such a poor review.
We arrived at 3.30pm and proceeded to check ourselves in. By the time we got to the room it was close to 4.30pm.
We were originally booked into a family villa. Everything was fine till the plumbing to the water heater started leaking causing a massive leak from the ceiling and making the whole room wet and slippery and soaking the bed in the process. What really scared us was the fine mist/smoke permeating from the ceiling when the whole incident occurred. My wife, who is pregnant almost slipped and fell due to the slippery wet floor.
After numerous calls to the front desk and going there personally to make a complaint to a particularly rude staff name Annabelle, we were upgraded to a 2 bedroom villa and provided with a free buffet dinner to help pacify us.
However, the air conditioning didn't work at the 2 bedroom villa. Prompting more frantic calls and another round of complaints to the front desk. This time round we were upgraded to the 3 bedroom villa and provided a free breakfast and late check-out for our troubles.
By the time we got to dinner, it was close to 9pm. Did I mention that my wife was pregnant? The buffet spread hardly had enough food to feed the amount of guests checked in to the resort.
In their defense, the 3 bedroom villa was awesome and we spent the rest of the night, thankfully without any further incidents. There was also a very helpful staff named Malik who helped us with our multiple room changes and helping ferry us and our luggage around with the buggy. Nabil also deserves special mention for making sure we're were comfortable before leaving us to our own devices at the 3 bedroom villa.
We left without having breakfast as the severely understaffed restaurant could not clear the tables in time for the throngs of guests queuing up to get in to the restaurant. We also couldn't utilize the extended checkout as well because the power to the villa tripped at 11am and didn't want to come back on.
To the manager on duty, Quayyam. Man up and take ownership of the problems that your guests are facing. Annabelle, I understand that you are flustered due to the numerous complaints you received that day but showing your guests a black face and being rude will not help solve matters!
