It is a spacious area and you would see plenty of tall trees in the compound. We thought we might not have the luck to meet orangutans after a long 30 minutes wait but thankfully, we were so excited to see one then the second and third one! All of us were watching them in silence on how they climbed, ate and played with each other. It was a fruitful trip to be able to see them from a distance but close enough if they were climbing around the compound. We would not forget the unfailing effort of the employee who did his utmost to call them out and lure them with bananas. His action has benefited all of us! Well done to all of the staff there.

To see semi wild orang utans in the nature reserve is a must do. Not caged, they come and go when they wish. Rangers feed them supplementary food. We saw 5 different orang utans. Rangers guided us when they are spotted at the feeding stations. Take note of the opening hours.

We got too see 5 orangutans at the 3 pm feeding, it was wonderful getting to see them so close up! We took uber there and got them to call a taxi to take us back. We spent about 110 getting there. I understand the bus is way cheaper if on a budget, but felt we didn't need to pay for a tour.

We arrived at 9 in the morning. It took some time (about 30 minutes of quiet waiting) before the Orangutans emerged from the jungle, but when they did, it was well worth the wait. What an amazing experience.

I made a short trip targeting to afternoon feeding time to see the orang utans, arriving around 14:15. Lot of people were already there. When walking from the main entrance to feeding area, heavy rain occurred. No problem for me but I guessed that it will probably make the orang utans passive. This was then also confirmed by a ranger. I only saw one animal there, which was of course better than nothing.
