We came to Kota Kinabalu for tours...and were happy to find out the Jesselton Hotel was the one chosen by our tour company. From what we saw online, it looked like a delightful charming older hotel...and they did not disappoint. The staff were all very friendly and helpful...the rooms were very comfortable and spacious...the breakfasts were great...we could not have asked for a better accommodations! Along with easy access to attractions in town, you have the Sunday Market right at your doorstep! What more could you ask for! :-)

Friendly and efficient check-in, good and comfortable rooms great shower. Excellent location near to all what you need to visit when in town and on Sunday the famous weekend market at your doorstep. Would go back when in town.

We stayed 2 nights in one of the deluxe rooms. While the room wasn't modern, it was spacious, comfortable and decent value for money. There was some traffic noise from the busy street out the back, but not enough to cause problems unless you are sensitive to such things. The internet was good and the staff were pleasant and helpful during our limited interactions with them.

The hotel is in a lovely central location on Gaya Street, with most things you might need within comfortable walking distance. The hotel restaurant - which serves European food - was nice enough, if a little expensive.

We would happily stay here again.

Cool old hotel with good history. Nothing luxurious, but good service, solid room, and good location (I needed to be the the pier early). Some solid restaurants nearby as well. Not really near good tourist locations, but not a ton to see in KK anyways.
