A classy hotel in the heart of George Town. We stayed 2 nights in a Duplex room (1 Argus), which was very spacious with a sitting area and a very large bathroom on one level and the bedroom and a 2nd WC upstairs with an outside sitting / sun area. The pool was a useable size and great for cooling down after sightseeing. Loads of restaurants nearby as well as bars.

The restaurant Kebaya had excellent food with innovative twist on Peranakan food. Not to be missed. The wine list could definitely be better though! All members of staff provided excellent service. You can see the owner was passionate about preserving Penang's heritage. Excellent location. The only black marks are the poor wifi quality and at times low water pressure when showering.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with the living room downstairs and bedroom upstairs. These have an additional toilet (to avoid going down the steep staircase at night) and a outdoor terrace

The staff are exemplary. All our requests were dealt with promptly and exceeded our expectations. The hotel is situated in a quiet area near George Town's Little India, and is within easy walking distance of most of George Town's attractions. The free hop on-off bus is also very close so you can reach parts which are a bit further away. The Hotel comprises two rows of seven rooms , plus two extra suites. The hotel rooms face one another across an open courtyard, and are situated on the first floor. There is a lift but in our case the lift was at the opposite end of the courtyard to our room so we just used the stairs. The living area is huge compared to many hotels. The bathroom adjoins the living area, and there is then another flight of stairs to the bedroom. The living area is furnished with museum quality artefacts and the lighting is used to spotlight them. This makes the light for general reading a bit dim. The bed was a four poster which seemed a bit short to me as my feet dangled over the end and I'm only 5ft 9". There is a small amount of hanging space upstairs, plus access to a separate toilet and washbasin, and access to a small balcony with one sun lounger, and two ordinary chairs. The air conditioning units are both situated so that they blow directly at you whether upstairs or down and we didn't find that particularly comfortable. The living room is well equipped, including tea and coffee making facilities. Cleaning of the room was excellent. As there are only 16 rooms the breakfast menu was a little restricted but adequate. The hotel also has a restaurant Kebaya, which is not to be missed. Overall I felt that the desire for style had superceded comfort in a few areas, which is why the hotel didn't quite reach 5 stars.

Room Tip: The Argus rooms overlook school playing fields and were very quiet

It was our second visit to seventerraces hotel in Penang. From the moment you enter this hotel you feel at home. Warm welcome by the staff. They recognised us from a earlier visit and we got big smiles and hands. More than beautyfull rooms. Very comfortabel and in style. The staff is more than great. Always helpfull, friendly . With humour but also down to earth .
Great food in kebaya their restaurant but also good breakfast and lunch.
We certainly come back.
