“The set lunch is well worth it”

I have tried lunch all around the Gurney area and this is one of the best set deals. There is a small soup and salad followed by a choice of mains, with both Western and Asian options. It also comes with a good coffee and simple dessert. The setting is nice and comfy with the service very attentive, especially Jenny. It rings in at 23.60 RM, definitely worth it.

I am a long term visitor of Penang and tried a huge variety of western/mixed cuisine places and spoons is the best. Great spread of food that is consistently good twisting, awesome service from staff and cooks that are prepared too answer questions. Most of all is the attentiveness of the spectacular management namely Ms. Jae Née. She provided several requested custom items that I figured was not typical but with great service and a plesent smile that lifted my spirits for the whole day. I would recommend Spoons restaurant for anyone in the Georgetown area who wants a relaxing delicious meal and great service. So much better than the Taiste cafe nearby, it’s similar but far inferior.

Wonderful spot for a group gathering considering the spacious and well-arranged dining area, which also features open-air fining. Staff is also most attentive and helpful, and deserving of commendation. The spread for the Hot Wok and Grill buffet dinner was, however, not very satisfactory in terms of variety and range. The desserts offering was great though. Still, I think for that price, diners deserve better. All things considered, the staff are a credit to the hotel even if the food was slightly underwhelming.

The food is too salty, much much much too salty almost like salt preserved food including the teppanyaki.
The chawan mushi was also so salty.
The sashimi was dehydrated.
The food was tailored towards the locals I suppose.
