Coral Bay Resort is a family resort with part rooms and part apartments with multiple rooms (and kitchen etc). I stayed in one of the apartments with 3 rooms as I came with a large number of people, Malaysian family vacation style.
The resort's team of staff was magnificent. From the moment we arrived, they were courteous, helpful, and ready to give their best service to all customers, local or foreign. There was a helpdesk corner where one of the staff explained about facilities and services like internet, cafe open time, bike and car rentals etc. In short, the resort has a great team of staff.
However, there's only so much that people can do. The resort itself is in dire need of an upgrade. The apartment side of the resort looked like an old neighborhood residential apartment complex, with dull flooring and basic paintjob, and water supply meters popping out of the walls like an eyesore. I advise they start with the toilet doors. Please get rid of those cheap plastic folding doors with small hook as the lock. Those doors are not fit for any hotels or resorts.
And it's time to change the air conditioning units too. The ones in my apartment were from the disco era. You know because they were yellowed. And with no remote control, the only way to control the temperature was to press a button on the wall. 1 time for supercool,...Coral Bay Resort is a family resort with part rooms and part apartments with multiple rooms (and kitchen etc). Overlooking all those things, I still enjoyed my stay here in the resort, thanks to the great people working there. Was it worth the amount paid? The service, yes, but the facilities, not really. Locationwise, it was not a beachfront, but it was just 3 minutes walk to the beach. And there's numerous restaurants and stalls around the resort to accomodate your appetite.More
