I loved Byblos sur Mer and would stay there again. You can't have a better location with better views of the Old Port or perfect walking distance to the restaurants and shops of the Old Souk and the amazing archaeological site of the Crusaders' Citadel. Yes, the pool is small, but my 9- and 12-year-old boys loved it and spent hours there. The deck also offers easy sea access. There is ice cream and chocolate mou (and other cafe food) on call. The seafood restaurant that juts into the sea is a beautiful location with good food.

For our 2-night family visit, we were deciding between Byblos sur Mer and Edde Sands and I felt that while Byblos sur Mer may lack a sandy beach, bigger aquatic facilities and a more 'resort' atmosphere, Byblos sur Mer more than made up for that with charm, character and warm, hospitable service--and the unbeatable location.

We were also upgraded upon check-in to a lovely suite on the top floor with a port view in view of the citadel that was very comfortable for a family of four and had great amenities: spacious bathroom, soaking tub and shower room, a welcome plate of fruit, sweets and wine, a balcony where we spent time relaxing, and fast wireless. The breakfast offers a wide variety of continental and Lebanese specialties both in a nicely laid out buffet as well as cooked to order. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to stay in the heart of Jbeil.

Room Tip: Upper floor, port view

This hotel is superbly located overlooking the beach and close to the port, places of great historical interest, restaurants etc. The staff is friendly, helpful and professional. However, not everything is within their control especially when the electricity frequently cuts out, wi-fi doesn't work or the air conditioning unit fails to function. We experienced these issues multiple times during our four day stay. In fact, the air conditioning unit in our room was unable to be repaired and we had to be allocated a new room. Mona, the manager on duty was incredibly apologetic and swiftly moved us to an upgraded room with a fruit platter and wine on arrival. Rooms are traditional & pleasant but could do with a little more attention to detail. Breakfast at the hotel was good, coffee quality excellent, also available; fresh fruit, juices, cereals, cold buffet and hot dishes to order. The outstanding feature of this hotel is it's location & staff with special thanks to John, Mona & the porter.

My wife and i came back after 1 year to "Byblos Sur Mer" to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary and since we spent some time during our honeymoon last year in the hotel and the experience was "Ok" we decided to go back this year as its location is very suitable and the hotel does have an amazing and romantic view specially during the sunset (pic attached).
So we decided to upgrade from last year's port suite to an executive suite and we stayed there 4 days and 3 nights from 1st until the 4th of July 2017. My overall rating is 2 stars only because i will give props to the kitchen staff during breakfast as they were very polite and helpful and the second star for the view from the room, other than that the experience wasn't pleasant as when you pay for an executive suite you expect certain high level, what i mean is that for example the shower-head keeps falling apart when used, most of the drawer knobs are very loose, the WC door lock doesn't work, no toilet cleaner available, no room service showed up the 2nd day until i called them around 2PM and asked them to send someone to clean the room. The internet speed is horrible as you will be lucky to have more than 0.4mbs down and 0.3mbs up,the AC keeps shutting down and even when kept on 18 degrees and on the highest fan speed we kept sweating most of the day, you don't know what is complementary with the room and what is not i.e i had to pay when checking out the crackers and the tea+Nescafe i used but not the wine, fruits and water and when i asked why you didn't notify us that those were not complementary with the room and why you replenished the crackers when not asked since they place outside the minibar the reply was we will tell your comments to management.

For the amount i payed and the experience i had i will only give 2 stars only and i'm not sure i will be going back next year nor in the near future.

It was a let down!! :(

Room Tip: Get a double room on the sea view, not worth the $ of upgrading to a suit. The best things are it'...

Rooms, location, amenities and the breakfast of the hotel were all top notch – but what I'd like to point out here was the very attentive staff. They were all helpful, quick and professional and made our stay there wonderful.
