We visited around April 20-25 where Morioka cherry blossom was at peak this year. This cherry blossom is super popular among Japanese tourist. I saw tour buses stopped by. Yes, this is worth it.

The tree is an old tree and grew out of a boulder. People in Tohoku where were affected by the earthquake see the life and strength from this tree. The tree has splendid cherry blossom.

Great example of the inexorable action of tree-roots, a metaphor for the power of slow, steady effort.

A stunning old tree in the heart of Morioka, this tree is outside the local prefecture office, and has split a boulder in two. A short walk from the main shopping street, toward the 500 Buddhas temple

For nature lovers , this is a simple work of nature at its finest. Nothing more nothing less! If u pass by an don't notice it, its OK go on ahead, but if u cross the road an find urself stopping to have a look. Stop an have a look, smile, wonder and accept it as it is, an try to remember what u had to day an go on ur way, cause u now have another cherished moment

We passed this attraction in a bus on the way to somewhere else and whilst it is in a lovely part of morioka we are glad that we didn't make a special trip to see it.
