The special one was old chicken indeed. The taste is stronger and the meat is firmer than the baby chicken. (And you can have baby chicken everywhere!)

Don't forget to order the ginger rice. It was perfectly matched with the chickens!

The restaurant served chicken legs grilled in salt, pepper and garlic, which are really yummy, and no one should miss them. I tried Hinadori (young chicken) which was tender and good! A bit salty and oily but good to eat with steam rice and veggie. No worries with Japanese menu, because English menu with explanation is available. The restaurant is one of the few in Takamatsu that you will see a long queue outside. I visited the restaurant before 6 pm to avoid the crowd. No need to wait for the seats. It opens at 4pm. Smoking area is available.

As the only non-natives dining and with a line out the door, this restaurant is not a tourist trap, though it felt like it. The tender chicken was tender and tasty; the "firm" was like biting rubberbands with greasy snapback. The best experience was listening to the waiter scream and smile as he sat you, cleaned your table, and served you. He should be in a movie. Miss this restaurant!

No 'wow' factor about the food here, it's simple and straight forward. Chicken!

There's limited choice if I'm honest, but I was advised to visit here by some locals I met in Takamatsu earlier in the day.

The menu is in English, so no struggle in ordering, and basically I went for the fried chicken, which was incredibly fatty (nice fatty).

Good setting, and nice atmosphere.

Smokers welcome, so be aware if you're taking children.

Ikkaku is a well known restaurants in Kagawa, serving Hina and Oya chicken. I usually get Hinadori, soup and rice balls. Very oily, so rice ball is great with the oil. If you have chicken craving, there is no better place than Ikkaku ;)
