“Moving footway outside was great. Wish hotel corridor had one!”
Reviewed 16 March 2012

The Hotel Nikko Kansai Airport is the only hotel located at Kansai International Airport, that is, on the island on which the airport stands - which is supposedly sinking, but I digress.

The hotel is a wonderful respite for weary travellers looking to crash before an early getaway, or after a late arrival. The airport (and hotel) is located some fifty kilometres from Osaka, and connected by bus and train, even so, I would not really be inclined to use the hotel as a base for an entire stay in Osaka - you woud be exhausted from travelling to and from the city each day.

The hotel has the longest corridors of any hotel I've seen (make sure your baggage has wheels!)

The windows of the rooms open just a tad, which I found useful becuase the room was rather warm, and I appreciated a little fresh air, even though it was March. Air conditioning can be regulated, or turned off entirely, by the room occupant.

The rooms are huge, by the way. Only the New Miyako Hotel in Kyoto has ones of a comparable size that I have personally stayed in.

A crticism is that there is a not a lot of information on the hotel restaurants in the rooms. Sure there are stands downstairs containing the respective menus, but nowhere could I find info as to if any contained a bar, or which one served breakfast. I thought this was a strange oversight, and I had to ask around myself.

The Brasserie Restaurant served an Italian buffet dinner the night I stayed, which, as Itailian buffets go, was not bad at all. As a hotel guest I got a discount (can't remember if it was 10 or 15 percent).

The rooms contain a small fridge but it is empty. There are vending machines on each corridor, but they do not have great choice save for beer, water and juice, so stock up from the convenience stores in the airport.

Staff were friendly and I enjoyed my stay here. Unfortuantely there are no views of departing aircraft, but, in spite of that, I would certainly stay again.

Room Tip: Corridors are long, so be prepared for a walk. If you want an undisturbed rest, and like sleeping...

We've stayed at this hotel before whenever we've had to arrive via Kansai Airport, it's conveinient location is it's biggest asset, it's only 5 mins walk from the terminal and right next door to the railway station, the rooms are good, we had a twin room which only cost us 13050 yen.
The staff speak english and are very helpful.

Easy access to this hotel. Arrived in Osaka and through customs by 8pm. Dropped bags into hotel and then headed out for a quick bite to eat. A great hotel to catch your breathe, freshen up, and get ready foe further travels. Book in advance and save many dollars. Also good if plane is late landing as train station closes down at 11pm.

We stayed here on our way from Kuala Lumpur to San Francisco. We had a 12 hour transit, so we booked our stay here in order to get some rest and freshen up before the 9 hour flight. It was a fine hotel, just outside the airport and a short walk away from the arrival and departure halls. We were received with the fine hospitality the Japanese are known for and checked in. The hotel is located on a plaza where there are some (not many) eateries. There were mostly Japanese restaurants and one Italian restaurants. The food and ambience was good.
The room was spacious with a nice bathroom. Toiletries were abundant in the bathroom.
My only qualm is that since it is an airport hotel, we should be charged for day use only, as some other airport hotels. We had to book two nights stay as we arrived at 7 am and the next flight departed at 6.30 pm. Maybe the hotel could look into this. Otherwise, it is a lovely hotel and we were happy to have stayed here.....

After 12 hours of air travel, I arrived at Kansai Airport with a group of friends. We were comfortable in the knowledge that we had booked rooms nd we could go straight to bed after some dinner.
Unfortunately we had booked t the Hotel Nikko Kansai in Osaka!!! An hour away!!
Instead of turning us away, the management very kindly cancelled our original booking and gave us rooms straight away at a reduced price!! It made everything so easy! The rooms were brilliant!! And we were ready for our flight the next morning!
Thanks again!
