The guest house is clean but too cluttered I'm not sure if it's the owners stuff or what past guest's have left behind, if the place can be cluttered then getting bigger and practical lockers maybe possible. Plus the side bars on the beds are not required, there usually for infants.
The guest house was in a good location for all Nara facilities.

good stay, airconditioning, location ok, friendly owner. price is also very reasonable. traditional Japanese futon beds and shared facilities. It's a little bit noisy, but we slept well. location is good: you can walk to every sight in Nara.

Awesome. This place was just the best place we've been in Japan. The guy who run the hostel is really nice and friendly. Incredibly polite. And the room... Well, the room was perfect. Exactly what you expect from a "japanese style room". In a really good position, only 5 min by walk from the kintsetsu station and 10 from nara park. We would suggest you all to spend a night at Takama guest house!

The host was very friendly and polite to the guests. He helped me to take the luggage up to the second floor and gave me information about the area before even collecting my money! He told me where to get cheap stuffs and how to go to the famous spot around. The rooms and common places were very clean and tidy. Even though I lived in share room, I could have privacy as there were curtains for each bed. The kitchen was very user-friendly, very nice for travelers who want to cook for themselves. Bathroom was clean and neat, free shampoo, conditioner and soap provided. There was a kotatsu (Japanese traditional heater) in the common room, so pretty warm even when it was snowing outside in February.

This hostel is in a good location near to the station. The dorms looked quite compact and there is only one shower for all the rooms, which may mean waiting. The main drawback for this hostel is there is clutter everywhere. To get out i had to step out over someones suitcase, brush past loads of clothes hanging up. There is stuff everywhere and it means people dont have anywhere to store their backpacks etc. In the shower room there is an unnecessary rusty metal shelf in the bath. My recommendation o this hostel is have a clear out and make some space for people. My room was spacious in itself. Bit of noise from the road. Wifi is good reception. The place was closed before 3pm so I had to wait and couldnt leave my bag, if your arriving early contact the hostel to see if you can leave your bag before checking in.
