Visiting Yokohama and staying at the Royal Park hotel for four nights at 61 floor.
Very nice and spacious rooms , clean and amazing view.
Hi-tech for the various functions of the room (blinds, lights, ac, privacy etc)
Very friendly staff and very helpful.
The breakfast not impressive at all, as also the whole buffet set-up. The sky lounge have amazing view and the Japanese restaurant one of the best regarding the food quality.

I paid 28,000 JPY for the verbosely named “Sky Resort Floor Atelier Corner Double Room City View Non Smoking”, a 1 night stay room-only booked 21 days prior.

Aside from the standard rooms, the hotel has recently renovated its Sky Resort floors (60-64) but not it’s Club floors (65-66, which confer lounge access) - which leads to the strange purchasing choice of an updated luxury room with no lounge access, or dated accommodation with lounge access.

My hope of ‘being pampered by world-class service’ were soon dashed by the 20 minute queue for check-in at 5pm on a Sunday - Las Vegas this is not. Queues and wait times for the elevators at some points during the day were also lengthy.

I enquired whether we could pay to ‘downgrade’ our room to just receive lounge access, perhaps along the lines of the original 3,500 JPY difference in room price. The 14,000 JPY uplift, 50% of the already near top-category room price, was somewhat ludicrous. Customer disappointment aside - the hotel is leaving money on the table.

The room was exceptional and matched the pictures exactly, and the hotel kindly honoured my request for a Mount Fuji-facing room. The view was well-worth the Sky Floor premium, although the haze sadly prohibited the elusive sight in the end. Plenty of USB sockets were available and a HDMI-in for the large TV, and a tablet device for controlling the AC, electric blinds and DND sign. The bedroom/lounge was spacious and well laid-out, with a long desk/table running the length of the window which would be perfect for in-room dining. Room service was only available 5pm-midnight, so our jet-lagged early morning cravings needed a longer convenience store excursion to satisfy.

The bathroom was immaculately clean offering a separate bath and shower, but felt older and un-renovated. The first iron that arrived from housekeeping did not work, and whilst waiting for the second and our dinner reservation time approach I wondered why this wasn’t standard in every room.

The ‘superb amenities’ promised neither extended to the swimming pool - a quick dip was an eye-watering 10,400 JPY additional charge - again nearly 40% of the room price.

Check-out by the early 11am target was thankfully swift along with the standard bag-check. Discreetly offering some constructive feedback to the duty manager on our stay was met by the standard-Japanese awkward smile and no further comment, which rounded off our stay as enjoyable but not one we would repeat.

We spent only one night here and had a very pleasant stay. The service was very good and the rooms quite large for a Japanese hotel. We had room service and although the menu was small, the food was tasty and well presented. We booked the hotel through Trivago and got a very good deal. Very accessible to retail shops and restaurant's. Car parking can be a bit of a hit and miss getting close to the hotel entrance. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Our room on the premium floor is well appointed, and very quiet. Pyjama is provided, but only for male travellers... The hotel is adjacent to the international terminal, and so is very convenient for catching an overnight flight. Food was mainly catered to japanesee taste.

Stayed here for two nights 22-24 March 2018. The staff are so kind, helpful and welcoming. The room I was allocated was on the 54th floor .This gave amazing views across Yokohama. The staff were most helpful with local information , and a good starndard of English is spoken here . Everything worked well including the high speed internet. There are many food places and a supermarket very close by . Highly recommended .
