Hakone Ginyu is a definite splurge, but well worth it. we stayed there for three nights in August. This ryokan is located in a charming little village near Hakone. We had two different rooms - the place is very popular - and each was simply amazing. The first room was a two story, maisonette, with a terrace, onsen and spectacular view of the mountains. The second was on the ground floor, with a beautiful outdoor garden area and large outdoor and indoor onsens. Meals are served in your room, and they were wonderful - amazing multi-course Japanese kaiseki feasts. The service couldn't be better. And, there is a staff member from Sri Lanka who speaks perfect English. We have stayed in a number of ryokan over the years, but I doubt any will surpass Hakone Ginyu.
