Wonderful stay in Hakone!!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 24 Mar 2024
Our Japan Tour had booked us into this excellent hotel in Hakone- it was an excellent choice! We got a spacious room with 2 twin beds, a large bathroom, and a traditional Japanese sitting area with large windows to look out at thr snow falling!
Service was spot on, and the room was kept spotless all the time. They have public and private Hot Spring baths.
Breakfast was quite OK. But it was the catered dinner tha5 was out of this world! You have to see the attached pictures.
The hotel was recently remodeled, thus everything was quite nice.
Date of stay: March 2024
Room Tip: Ask for double room with traditional sitting area.

We needed a break from staying home every day because of the Covid-19 virus. We saw that this place had a reasonable rate and four private hot springs. It is not the newest hotel, but it is very clean and was an excellent place to go to be surrounded by nature. The hot springs were excellent and clean. I loved soaking in them and could feel the stress disappearing. Our room was comfortable and quiet. The staff was very friendly and let us check in early.
Of course, take in mind that this is during the pandemic. Don't go to crowded places. I think this is a good, safe place to go to get a mental recharge. We all need it. Be safe and enjoy!

Old hotel, rooms were fine onsen was a bit rusty and breakfast was great and delicious
A bit far location but we were attracted by the price and it turned to be a good choice.
Nothing luxury, looks like the place knew better days but we were happy with it. Especially the breakfast.

Oh, what a view. We had our first experiance with a Japanese hotel at Hakone. We still asked for a western still room, but it had a Japanese stile seating room. We enjoy the hot spring private rooms. The view from the roof top was incredible.

We booked for 2 nights in one of the traditional Japanese rooms, it was nice spacious, fairly clean and, private bathroom, shower,tv,wifi which was great for watching the Sumo wrestling, you are also provided with traditional Yukata robe to wear and Haori and slippers. We had full use of the Onsen too, The breakfast buffet was great with a choice of Japanese and Western foods ,i managed to get a good photo of mount Fuji,There is also a shop selling various Japanese food items, They have also vending machines with food and drinks, due to its location it is far from food shops , the nearest is the local Lawson which is 5 minutes drive away, happy with the car parking facilities.will go again.

Most of these rooms are traditionally Japanese with matting and a futon for sleeping. For overseas visitors, an extra futon on the floor will make it more comfortable. There are public baths for both men and women, with a very small bathroom ensuite in each room.
The only available seating in these rooms are either the windowsill or the chairs placed on the ground with the dining table.
The room was a bit shabby and worn, as were the public areas. The redeeming feature was the set menu dinner served to our group, which was tasty and well presented.
