“How soon can I come back?”

Chose this hotel as it is one of the official Disney Resort hotels, and one of the more western ones at that.
The location couldn't be more convenient, being 150 metres from the Disney Monorail that takes you to all the parks. You can take the delightful Mickey bus if that is too far for your weary legs at the end of a day at the Disney parks.
The rooms were very well appointed, very comfortable, and very clean. I registered as a Starwood Preferred Guest prior to going (free), with associated benefits.
What was truly exceptional though, was the quality of the service and the warmth and friendliness of all levels of hotel staff. Of course it is Japan, but evens till, they were so lovely.
The breakfast buffet was worth a mention. Western and Japanese style food. Go before 7.30 if you want to be at the Parks for opening as buffett gets busy and there can be a wait for tables.
I found a good deal on this Hotel which was not cheap but certainly still very good value.
Hope to return to Hotel and Tokyo Disney soon.

Room Tip: Level 10 is reserved for Starwood Preferred guests, and you probably want a room overlooking the par...

I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in May 2012. I spent 3 days in the parks and the location of this hotel is ideal for visiting the parks. For travelling to the city, however, will require changing trains 1-2 times. The hotel has free shuttle to the Bayside station of Disney Resort Line (mono rail), which is just 2-3 mins walk from the hotel. There is also limousine bus service to the airport from the hotel.

Hotel check in time is 15:00. Since my flight arrived early in the morning, I checked in instead at the Welcome Centre near JR Maihama station and my luggage were in my room when i returned at night. Park tickets can be purchased in Welcome centre or hotel lobby, which is very convenient.

Hotel room is large and clean, with private balcony. I had a room with beautiful park view on 11F. Beds are comfortable. However, drawer space is rather limited. Also the air condition automatically turns off when the balcony door opens. Every time when I close the balcony door I need to adjust the temperature of the air condition again. The hotel provides free internet stations and wifi on 2F lobby. Too bad wifi is not available in guest rooms.

Breakfast in Grand Cafe is excellent with lots of selections, and with a nice view of the hotel's garden. Staff are very polite and helpful, most speak English well.

All in all, I love this hotel and I'm happy to stay here again in the future.

I was a little concerned given some reviews, potential crowds, and the kiddie themed room pictures on various websites. Timing being in April, just after easter on a weekday, it appears that the timing was quite good and I thoroughly enjoyed the hotel and would recommend for anyone who is spg plat and can get the upgrade to the executive level.

The executive level rooms were quite comfortable and more normally appointed. The bathroom was well thought through with a separate shower area. Either view (bay or park) is quite nice. Executive lounge was quite nice and well equipped. You can make a decent light dinner out of the evening snacks, and the free beer until 9 is a nice touch. SPG breakfast is a full buffet in one of their restaurants and quite satisfying with full american and japanese servings. Service a little spotty on the breakfast, but the food was overwhelming in quality and quantity for what you normally get at a Sheraton for bkfst so can not complain.

Facilities were ok; if had not been preoccupied with the park, might have been disappointed with the workout facility which was marginal albeit opened 24 hours. A coin-op laundry 6am-midnight in case you need to do anything was a nice alternative to the laundry service money-extraction. Shopping mall and arcade attached were clearly geared towards the Japanese tourist and wedding crowd, and had a bit of a foreign feeling, but suppose in the summer, the pool and mini-golf course might be a nice alternative.

Outside of the breakfast and exec lounge, did not find the restaurant offerings to be enticing. However, we did go off site to the Ikispiari (sp?) center, which, while it is not cheap and not the deep Japanese experience people may be looking for, it does have a genuine Japanese feel as it is geared toward providing places for them to eat after they have visited the park. Korean bbq place was particularly awesome. If you want a little more neighborhood experience, the next stop over on JR has a typical shopping center and similar restaurants which would likely be cheaper, including a korean bbq and a shabu-shabu restaurant.

Transportation within the park system was first rate...getting to the park, restaurants and the hotel was fine and never much of a delay. The hotel itself is walking distance from the monorail station (across the street) but will admit to even having taken the shuttle bus at the end of the day. All overwhelmingly clean and straightforward.

ONE WARNING ON TRAVEL....nothing I saw, nor the JR diagrams of Tokyo station, prepared me for the distance between the Shinkansen area and the Keyo line tracks. This is a haul, particularly if you have been on the Shinkansen since Osaka and have had a few beers and luggage in tow on a Sunday afternoon swimming up stream against the returning weekend traffic. Heard gai-jin on more than one occasion!!! Just be prepared. Also, if you are thinking of arranging taxi off the general area of the park, give it some lead time (2 hours).

All in all, a very good stay, decent service, decent facility, and it is not all penguins and glitter. The one thing keeping me from rating this a 5 star is the lack of WIFI outside of the lounge. Yes, they have hardwire internet available in the room, but what appears to be a dogged trend in the starwood hotels (Osaka Westin had this affliction as well) they did not spend the buck s for a wifi infrastructure. That is a problem for the apple-toting crowd (2 ipads, an iphone and a mac book air) which were essentially worthless. Put a dent in the image of a highly advanced technology country.

Regardless, would still stay again, although I would really like to see wireless if I went back. If you are not platinum, I would evaluate the value of buying exec level rooms. The lounge and breakfast were very worthy.

Room Tip: Exec level. Choice will be park or sea view. Both are good.

the only thing good was fantastic location for Disneyland and Disneysea. the actual hotel was very basic, i would rate a 3* at best and due to proximity to Disney is really overpriced. i would say that its fine for somewhere to just stay overnight, but do not have high expectations of the rooms

Had high hopes for the Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay. Chose it for my last 2 nights stay at Tokyo Disney Resort. Choice of room : Treasure Room..

Arrived at hotel and was kept waiting for 20 mins for my check-in in a hot and non-airy lobby...
(Note : There were not many guests in front of my queue)..
Also, do take note of the following..
1. No wired internet access unless you are prepared to pay.
2. Strictly no late check-out allowed unless you are prepared to pay too. The price you need to pay is another night's stay. No flexibility. Requested to late check-out for 1 hour also not allowed, need to pay..
3. Hotel Convenience Shop is super expensive even for Japanese standard -- obviously they jacked up the price.. Variety are poor as well..
Overall 1st impression : V..v..Poor

*Had stayed in 4 hotels (Note : Some hotels are even 3 stars hotels) in Japan and Sheraton gave me the poorest impression..And Sheraton is very much in contrast to what I have experienced the day before staying in the nearby Hilton Bay hotel. At Hilton Bay, I was attended to promptly, was given late check out for 3 hours even though I had not requested for it, had free WIFI in my room and also free mini bar w free bottled soft drinks and 2 subsidized meal voucher.. Its Convenience stall is also reasonable with better varieties..
To add on, I paid a lower rate for my Hilton Room compared to my Sheraton Room.

However, this was not all.. When I got to my room, there was a noticeable unpleasant smell in the room. Called the guest service and was showed to several rooms on the same floor but all had similar unpleasant smell..

Concluded that it must be something they use commonly in the rooms.. As I really cannot bear the smell, was given the option to upgrade to their club level room.. Went to the Club room and although a similar smell is also present in the Club Room, the smell is of a tolerant level..

To think back, I regretted to plan my stay in the Sheraton Bay Grande Hotel as i had read some negative reviews on the unpleasant smell before and wishfully think that maybe the hotel had reacted to the previous postings. It also completely shattered my otherwise perfect Japan trip.

Please consider your choice carefully..
