During 10th – 13th December 2017, we stayed in Toyoko Inn Hokkaido Hakodate Ekimae Asaichi, just 2 minutes walk to the market.
There are 2 sections in this market: one section selling mostly dry products (vegetables, corn, seaweed, some seafood) and the other wet section selling only seafood (crab, squid, sea urchin etc). You can try squid-fishing here too. However, I noticed that the prices of seafood is relatively higher than that of Sapporo Nijo market. There are limited tables to dine if you decide to buy some seafood to try.
There seemed to have flocks of tourists visiting this place, so it may make you feel like tourist spot. But go ahead to try some of the smaller seafood like scallop and sea urchin, they can’t be any fresher anywhere else but here.
