Nothern Hokkaido in the dead of winter. Deeeevine. Food was beautiful to look at and beautiful to eat. Our room was enormous with 2 bathrooms and an extra shower to service our outdoor private onsen. Very traditional. Our driver took us to the Red Crowned Cranes. We were free to walk in the forest and across the frozed lake, where people enjoyed winter sports. The village of the Ainu people was interesting. Sad to think another 'traditional' way of life is being reduced to tourism, I guess.
I highly recommend this place. Absolutely worth the effort.More
