The hotel is fabulous - wonderful location and amazing views across the Sea of Japan. It is located on the top floors of a shopping complex so easy access to lots of shops and restaurants. Breakfast was one of the best throughout my trip (second) in Japan. One of the few hotels that includes coffee and creamer with tea/ kettle facilities. Its a short walk from Kanazawa train station and to the Samurai area, gardens etc. Definitely recommend

Situated very centrallyand on top of a shopping mall with the most amazing views over the city to the Sea of Japan.
The room had every amenity, even an iron and ironing board, and soft and firm pillows, but was quite small which was the norm throughout Japan. I had windows facing in 2 directions with great views. The bathroom was compact but the shower was good and the water very hot.
The best breakfast of the 7 hotels we stayed at in Japan, sitting at a counter at the window on the 16th floor.

From the moment we arrived at the 16th floor lobby, till the moment we left, four days later, everything was wonderful. Staff were always smiling, always helpful, rooms were clean and very comfortable and we had a nice view looking toward the castle and park.
Breakfast was included and was very tasty with made to order omelettes and eggs. The standard of both Holiday Inn and Crown Plaza are much higher in Japan and their prices offer excellent value.

The location is excellent. We walked to the Samurai area, the Garden and the Geisha area. The market is across the street as are bus stops. We walked to the hotel from Kanazawa station and it took around 10 minutes or so. I wouldn’t do it with suitcases but with carry on its just fine.

I also want to say thank you to Mr. Kazuya Numata, the front office supervisor, for arranging for delicious chocolate pastries from breakfast to be made for us even though breakfast had ended, He went above and beyond.

Kanzawa is a fabulous small city and we enjoyed all it had to offer, including the Holiday Inn Kanazawa.

A carbonara pasta was ordered costing 1100 yen. This pasta did not remotely taste like carbonara. I small container of Parmesan cheese accompanied the dish. The cheese was so old and hard,a chopstick was used to loosen the cheese. There was no bacon or pancetta in this concoction. Why do hotels offer food which they have not the slightest inkling to prepare. The food in Japan is generally of a high standard.

We are gold IHG members, but were very dissapointed this time.
Check in was not allowed till 2 pm.
The Deluxe room we ended up in was small and sad looking, with a bed against the wall (have to climb in and out)
There was a constant drone from a (permanent) machine outside
The bathroom was very small and was elevated with a dangerous high step up to enter.
There was a small window, without much of a view, which can't be opened.
It seems that it all depends on the class of room you get in this hotel, but the Deluxe rooms are definitly below standard.
