Owner description: This beautiful park contains one of the top three celebrated gardens in Japan. The name Kenrokuen literally translates to “garden combining six”, referring to the six attributes all gardens should have: seclusion, antiquity, spaciousness, human ingenuity, water and scenic views.

This is a beautiful garden with some cherry trees inside.

I started my visit in the castle park which is only separated by a bridge, it the place to see the cherry blossoms which were at their best at the time of my visit and it was barely busy. Then i made my way to the bridge and Mayhem started, the food stands, the touris shops, the loud and enormous guided tours oy! But with all that going on it was still fun to walk around the garden that was in full spring burgeoning mode. I would recommend a 1 hour to 1 hour & half for the visit.

Definitely worth a visit. There were a number of people wearing kimono and with the cherry in blossom created such a beautiful sight. Very peaceful, with running water, ponds, bridges and stunning trees
