Great hotel.

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 4 weeks ago
My sister and I who stayed at Hotel Nikko Kanazawa for three days last August.
The hotel is in a great location.
Close to the main train station in the city of Kanazawa, which allows quick access by train to any point you want to reach.
In our case, the short walk of about 100 meters allowed us to get to the high-speed Shinkansen train to Tokyo.
Adjacent to the hotel building and to our delight, there was also a Toyota Rent Car agency where we had to return the car we rented, so returning the rented car was also smooth and pleasant.
The Toyota car drop-off lot is right behind the hotel building.
The hotel is close to the central station, from where the Round Kanazawa bus departs, allowing the average tourist to get around the city in all the main attractions in a comfortable way and return to the hotel.
The hotel itself is modern and the hotel staff is happy to help in any way and in any situation.
The room itself was large and modern and equipped with everything you need.
The breakfast was excellent and rich, despite a slight inclination towards Japanese cuisine.
We will be happy to come for another visit to the wonderful city and hotel (hopefully soon).

Very tall modern hotel conveniently close to the station. Slightly out of town centre but in spite of the weather we walked to everywhere we wanted to visit. Our room was on the small side but the bathroom was, as usual in Japan, bright & clean. Good views. Breakfast was pretty hectic at times, large tour groups, but a reasonable choice. Helpful staff, particularly at the Concierge’s desk.

Room tip: Very near the Station

Perfectly acceptable hotel in the centre of Kanazawa. The hotel is clean and comfortable, albeit that the rooms are rather small and dated with a bathroom that is only average.
The staff speak little English and the concierge was not as knowledgeable as we had hoped for.
Would stay for a layover, but no longer

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The hotel was wonderful. The staff were superb and the concierge was especially helpful with all of our requests. The room was lovely . The breakfast could have had more western options and they should really upgrade their coffee service to add cappuccino. They did offer an extensive mini bar free of charge which was a very nice touch. Other than minor criticisms, we had a wonderful experience.

The Nikko Hotel Kanazawa is located under 5 brief minutes walk from the train . Station.

It is absolutely beautiful and the customer service is most excellent.

I was on the 21st floor and my view was outstanding. I could see all the way to the ocean.

Check in / Out : total breeze
Fast and efficient since I did not pre pay, upon check out o settled my bill. And if you have been following the yen, this worked out to my absolute favor

Room : comfort double.
It came with all the comforts they promised.
I loved that I could stream Netflix when I was unwinding at night.
The pillow and mattress suited me fine

Restaurant : I had the opportunity to enjoy 3 breakfasts at the hotel and on one day I was offered the option to eat at the Japanese restaurant for Japanese breakfast. I could not believe my luck. The set menu was absolutely decadent and divine. I was even served Fugu (blow fish ) this blew me away. Get it ? Hahah. All honesty it was spectacular and just shows you the caliber of this hotel.

I also enjoyed their sky lounge for some heavy snacks and cocktails overlooking beautiful Kanazawa. It’s so peaceful.

The lobby is also so very inviting with extremely comfortable sofas and chairs.

This hotel spoiled me I’m truly happy
Thank you

Room tip: If you have breakfasts and the oppprotinitu to eat on the 6th floor. Please do so. The main buffet can get crazy busy

This hotel is rated as the second best hotel in Kanazawa. That's absurd, as it was a big letdown.

Like many hotels in Japan, the hotel doesn't use fitted sheets, so sheets come off the bed during the night. The elevator doesn't work well, and you need to push the button for your floor 20+ times to get it to work, every single time. We somehow ended up in a smoking room which was terrible but admittedly our fault as it seems we didn't check while we made the booking. Connecting to the Wifi is an ordeal, it takes 10+ minutes to do it, and all the hotel staff had to say about it is that "it often does that".

There is no gym at the hotel, which again is pretty common in Japan.

All in all, you end up paying way too much for what you get. I have to believe there are way better options available.
