Shinichi Kumada san (Kanazawa Tomodachi Tours), who volunteered to guide us on our second visit to city of Kanazawa.
Kumada-san explored at each site that we intended to visit and made to see more of Kanazawa in visiting places that primarily by locals. The tour along with our conversation were enabling us to enhance more over the Japanese Culture, believes, social norms and practices, and history (additionally commenting the impact on Japan that arising from San Francisco Peace Conference, September 1951) while guiding us through Silk Dyeing in Kanazawa, Kenroken Garden, The Castle Park. Nagamachi Sumurai District, D T Suzuki Museum, and so on. His conduct was eventually to exceed our expectations.
Such a great service conducted by him is to be commended. My wife and I truly enjoyed his accompany during our visit to Kanazawa a memorable. My attempt to engage with him in Japanese, he rectified the mistakes with a good sense of humour. It was an honour to hear his life story and well as his family.
This trip exposed about Japan and the theories of the Japanese (にほんじんろん). We are intending to visit Japan at every opportunity when arises, as the people, vegetation, land and every aspect of Japan fortified on both my wife and me. We feel that we are fortunate among few to trace these elements that closer to our heart and mind.
Looking forward to visit to Kanazawa.
Kanazawa Tomodachi Tour guides have more than 10 years experience. They focus on even tiny things that show the idiosyncrasies between foreign visitors and the locals. They want to do something unique. Our guide not only showed us around the town sights but also talked about life, family, and things relative to us.
Our guide Shinichi-san took us to places only known to, or accessible by, locals.
One example was a beautiful traditional inn for lunch, where we were privileged to have an impromptu demonstration of the Koto instrument played beautifully. Also a visit to the 'Noh' museum was fascinating and fun.
It was a fantastic day for us, so different from the usual tours offered everywhere, so interesting and fun.
