The good: The room was nice and clean. The room temperature was easy to adjust (once you realised you had to take the controller our of the holder). The hotel was easy to locate and next to the train station. You could take your own food to the dining area in the hotel reception area. Easy to access areas of the city due to location. Staff were friendly and willing to help with queries. We arrived early and they kept our bags. The bad: The room temperature was difficult to work out, so a tip sheet would be helpful. There was no coffee/milk in the room.

A Ryokan is a traditional Japanese accommodation which typically features ‘futon’ (folding mattresses) on ‘tatami’ (straw mat) floors. Many Ryokan are known for their public baths (typically "Onsen" hot springs) and their traditional cuisine. 24/7 front desk service is not guaranteed for this accommodation type.
This hotel is located really close to the kanazawa station and forus mall (300m). The receptionist is located at the top floor. The room was spacious, has bathtub and the interior was great. Highly recommended!

The Wing is conveniently near the station and provides clean rooms of normal size. The breakfast Japanese style was very good indeed. Stayed three nights and explored Nagano and Jigokudani Monkey Park (monkeys were elsewhere in the mountains occupied with the mating rituals ☹). The gardens of Kanazawa are beautiful and within walking distance.

Twin room was comfortable for 2 people. Hotel is near the train station and train tracks, but the sound from the trains was faint and did not bother us. Staff was helpful in helping us book ninja-dera. The hotel had a city tax though, even though I had already made full payment for the rooms before arrival.

Walk through left side of Hyakubangai u til the end. Turn left then right and walk to pedestrian crossing. Once over, turn right the left at next small intersection. 20 metres and you're there and as dry as possible. Reception is on 13th floor with friendly, efficient staff. Smooth check in and ask for low number rooms if worried about train noise. Plenty of food options at station and Forus store to start with. Buses are also on this side of the station ( JR bus is free if you have a pass.)

About 5 mins walk to the kanazawa station where there are many shops and restaurant. The breakfast provided was homely and japanese. The only downside was the room had only heater and it was centrally controlled during cold months. Opening the windows slightly solved the problem.
