Hotel Pacific is a great little (31 rooms) boutique hotel in Kanazawa, conveniently located near Omicho Market. Our twin room, although small (as expected) was very quiet, clean and comfortable with some thoughtful touches - eg. a bud vase of fresh flowers, complimentary bottled mineral water. The calming all-white decor, complete with house plant in a macrame hanger, felt fresh and modern. The young staff were relaxed, friendly and helpful. We liked that the hotel is attached to a cafe (full coffee menu, and it was good). All in all, a very nice stay at a super reasonable rate.

Hotel Pacific Kanazawa is a nice small hotel in the center of Kanazawa with a unique feel. We spent two nights here and the stay went well. What is interesting is that the hotel also has a small bar which offers really good (and tasty) coffee as well as beer and Ume (japanese liquor). There are also electric outlets here so if you want to read the morning news on your computer and have some great coffee with it, it's ideal.

The hotel is in the town center, right next to the Omichi Fishmarket and within a short walking distance of both the Castle and Kenroku-en gardens, which are the main sights to see in Kanazawa, on the other hand this means it's a bit further away from the station (around 20 minutes walking), but there are city buses you can use.

The staff were also very friendly and helpful and spoke enough English to be understood. The room we had was nice and I liked the design.

The Elevator door was very close to the reception, e.g. it caused some congestion when more guests wanted to check-in/go up to their rooms. I personally felt that there was not enough electric outlets in the room we had, but this may be down to personal preference and expectations.

Loved Pacific! Very cute new hotel (only 31 rooms) with great young staff. Decor is very nice and rooms are good size for Japan as well (although if course small). The bar downstairs is a great addition and we always had drinks after dinner or before going out with Jazz music playing in the background (order sangria which was very good). We especially liked all the details - down to the bikes offered to guests to tour the city and the cutest maps with all the recommendations divided for breakfast/lunch/dinner. Close to all major sites: market, castle, Higashi Chaya and the station).

Positive aspects
• Very good location (walking distance to Castle park, gardens and market)
• 15 minutes by taxi from station (approx. 1000 yen)
• Very nice recommendations for dinner from reception staff
• Small, cozy (coffee) bar on the ground floor (ginger tea is superb)

Less positive aspects
• Extreme, tiny (bath)room. The smallest we had in Japan
• Strange that we were not allowed to borrow 2 glasses from reception

very friendly staff, a small lobby with coffeeshop and Jazz music. Super location within walking distance from the train station and next to Omicho market. In fact you can walk to many major attractions from here. Rooms basic and smallish, but quite a change from your average japanese hotel.
