Wonderful 4 day stay. Great rural location over looking the Zambezi. Lovely lodges . First class staff, food and service. Nothing was too much trouble and all trips and activities can be booked from here. I wanted to find a house I had not lived in for 46 years and everyone at the lodge was determined we found it. A very personal service. Truly did not want to leave and counting the days until we return!

We enjoyed our stay at Taita Falcon lodge with our parents and 1 year old baby. The accommodation is open air with no AC or electricity apart from lights, so charging phones or using a hair dryer is impossible. You have to charge any electronics in the office during the hours when the generator is on from 6 - 10pm, which is annoying as this is also the time when the wifi is on (intermittently).
Things we loved were staying somewhere a bit different, the food was amazing, Victor our guide was super knowledgeable and our baby loved the owners pet puppy
On the downside we wouldn't recommend it as it kind of felt like expensive camping with less electricity access. You definitely do not want to be afraid of outdoors in the dark, bugs, bats, general nightime noises or have need of wifi access for anything important. We also found the owner to be very over bearing at times which was not appreciated, we would have preferred to have freedom to make our own decisions about bookings transport etc. Suggestions great, advice - wonderful, instructions as to what to do and when? No thanks.

My wife and I wanted somewhere special to celebrate 25 years together and Taita Falcon Lodge did not disappoint. The view was stunning and the tranquil, rustic ambience just what we wanted.

The accommodation is in open-sided cabins, made from local materials, with large, comfortable beds and plenty of hot water. Some of the electrics were a bit clunky and we were very hot at night (no breeze during our stay) but we particularly liked the additional outdoor cold water shower, very private, which was great for cooling off.

Food was good and plentiful, and the bar well stocked. The small pool could have used a clean, but we were there at a very dusty time.

All the staff could not have been more welcoming and friendly, and we felt really well looked after. On the night of our anniversary we happened to be the only guests; the team went out of their way to make us feel special.

Couple of things to note.

First, the lodge is 10km out of town in the bush so you need the lodge to fix all transfers. That can mount up - but if peace and quiet is what you want it's worth it. No noisy helicopters here, unlike places nearer the falls.

Second, the lodge would not be a suitable place for small children as it is perched right at the edge of the gorge and would be practically impossible to make child safe without seriously degrading the view.

We loved our stay.

Stayed 2 nights at Taitas.
Wonderful and relaxing experience, however, be prepered of a bumby long drive going there (and expensive if you are alone), but totally worth it!
Very nice staff and view. Would go here again if i ever come back to Livingstone.
