Greeted by African dancers on arrival for our three night stay. Reception staff friendly. Giraffes, Zebras and Impala walking on lawns. Lovely swimming pool and lakes plus African village in grounds. Just 10 minutes from Zimbabwe border for access to that side of Victoria Falls. Zambian side of falls is not so good in dry season but only a few minutes walk away. We ate at pool bar in evenings although buffet restaurant used for breakfast. Food was ok although service a little slow. Jackson the waiter at the pool bar was so happy, helpful and a pleasure to meet. Only a short trip back to airport makes this hotel a must to stay.

Top priority is having easy access to Victoria Falls and this hotel has it. Friendly and usually obliging staff. The hotel gardens are part of the national park, so zebra, impala and other animals roam around. Breakfast is good and abundant. No need to splash out on the expensive Royal Livingstone next door!

Our stay was a wonderful experience, check-in was easy, rooms were comfortable and colorful. Staff was very accomodating. The pathways had very dim lighting, and not enough chairs around the pool are the only negative things I can find with this property.
Breakfast was plentiful, with a vast assortment of fruits, cereals, breakfast sweets. We did go to dinner at their sister property, The Royal Livington, which they will shuttle you to. You can see a beautiful sunset from this property ,well worth it.
Bonus with this property was admission to Victors Falls. Zebras, giraffes monkeys and baboons. roam the property.
A must when staying in Zambia!

Zebra's wandering grounds , easy access (by foot) to Victoria Falls.
Rooms slightly dated , location perfect .
Team members very helpful and will assist if they can .
On arrival we were greeted with tribal dancers that encouraged us to join in .
Best way ever to start your vacation.

The AVANI Victoria Falls Resort is one of the better located and family friendly hotels for this bucket list destination. It is only 20 minutes drive form the international airport.
We traveled in April 2018 as a family of 6 including 2 children and 2 elderly parents. Reservations was kind enough to provide us with ground floor adjoining rooms as requested.

The sprawling grounds are beautiful with free roaming wildlife and a short walk, with buggies on request, to the Victoria Falls. Another plus is that the hotel has arrangements for complimentary entry to the falls as well as it's sister hotel The Royal Livingstone next door, where AVANI guests may enjoy drinks and meals.

The buffet breakfast had a good spread. Other meal options are limited at the only restaurant by the poolside, service was somewhat slow and staff seemed uninterested mostly. Overall the food was 'better than average' but not 'very good' and the pizza was not bad as they have a wood fire oven.

The rooms are a little small, almost squashed as well as dated and cleanliness could see an improvement, basic toiletries are provided but really seemed to be expired!

Excursions we would recommend include the Sunset Cruise and Helicopter ride over the great Zambezi. We were unfortunately didn't see much game on our game drive at the Mosi-O-Tunya National park, it seemed that the elephants had moved to the Zambia side. We were fortunate to however see the 'smoke that thunders' on the falls and especially during our aerial safari. Do check the season in which you travel!

Back to AVANI, we have given the hotel a 1 star rating in particular due to mismanagement of an incident with my 9 year old daughter who tripped and fell and broke her tooth and cut her lip, due to the every dimly lit path ways; whilst walking back to our room from the reception. The management did offer a medical doctor to visit however at the same time, a security personnel very quickly took a report from us indemnifying the hotel from being sued.

We did write much later to the AVANI Reservations agent who organised our booking and she promised to take it up this incident with higher management, more so, so that the we could prevent such incidents occurring to future guests, especially the young and/or elder ones. Sad to say that the AVANI group has proved to be highly unprofessional and we have not heard back to date!

We will definitely not be staying at any AVANI whatsoever on their worldwide network in the future.

Dear Sonal

Thank you very much for sharing your experience from your recent stay with us.

I completely understand the frustration over the lack of response to the incident you reported and can assure you this is not the service level that we pride ourselves on.

I have sent you a separate mail in order to resolve the matter.

Kind regards
Rob Cohen
