Such a nice place, so pretty with really clean rooms. Really tasty breakfast and nice decking to enjoy the sun !! Staff are also so helpful and let us leave our bags for the day when we checked out. In the centre with loads of restaurants and bars around! Overall great stay

Im writing this from shades balcony, half hour before we checkout after 3 lovely nights here.
The place is great, really nice modern room (wee had poolside ground floor), super clean, extremely comfortable bed, great mini bar, room serviced daily, great shower, bathroom, all top class. The general surroundings are really nice, the bar/lounge/patio area is literally right on the sea. See pic! Pool is very pleasant not olympic size but very nice for a dip and a few lengths.
The staff are wonderful, really happy people who all seem to be friends. I believe the owners are from NZ but were away when we stayed - your hotel is in great hands!!
Cant say enough good stuff about the place & i dont often leave reviews.
Try the whole red snapper from the place next door (£2/3) - they may even pass you a plate over the wall to enjoy in shades.
No negatives i can think of.

Shades Resort was the highlight of our stay in Mui Ne. We stayed in the smallest room in the complex, but it was nevertheless large and spacious. Everything was spotlessly clean. The bed was so comfortable and the pillows fluffy and soft (this might have caused us to oversleep the first night). We spent two days camping out in front of the beautiful view of the ocean that this place provides - so peaceful, and we were never bothered by a single thing. Breakfast was delicious: Great omelettes, banana pancakes, and coffee. Looked forward to it every morning! But it was the staff who made our stay. They were friendly, full of suggestions, and always up for a conversation. Did everything to make us feel comfortable and taken care of. When a strange smell began to emanate from our bathroom one day, they offered to transfer us to a larger, more expensive room with no added charge. They said they would try and fix it but we could move if we preferred. We opted to wait and see if it could be fixed and they resolved the problem within an hour. Only complaint: The shower did not drain and our bathroom floor was therefore frequently wet. Definitely the best service we've encountered throughout Southeast Asia!

Stayed here for four nights. The suite I stayed in was enormous and faced the sea. Beautiful place to just relax and enjoy your holidays. The beach is literally right in front of you. For those of you who like to sun tan, you won't be able to get any from 3pm onwards as the hotel next to Shades covers the sun. So you will have to go to the beach. The lock to the suite was confusing but you will get used to it by your second/third night. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Plenty of places to eat outside the hotel. Will definitely recommend this hotel for those who want to enjoy a nice, relaxing vacation right by the beach!

Room Tip: The suite on the second floor facing the sea is amazing

Stayed for two nights. Arrived early and we were allowed check in as room was ready. Hotel is small but very beautiful. Fab decking area overlooking the water. Lovely pool. Breakfast was delicious. Good location. Most of all however, staff at the hotel are incredibly friendly and helpful and just because of them alone I'd recommend staying here. So welcoming, chatted to us as if we were friends and booked tours of nearby attractions and bus to next destination (commission free), so helpful. I'd highly recommend staying at Shades.
