The GIC Land Luxury Hotel is not a terrible place by any stretch. If you can get over the terrible decor (no lamps, really?) the weird smell in the bathroom, the super hard beds and staff that barely speaks English, it's fine. The location is excellent if you want to be in the center of Da Nang. Breakfast was middle of the road. Elevators were insufficient for the hotel's size. For the price, it's a decent option - just set your expectations accordingly.

Rating this hotel was quite difficult. We had some great experiences but some disappointing ones as well. I was caught between 3-4 stars.
Our view was stunning! We got one on the highest corner floor and could see the front of the dragon bridge, the different bridges and the skyline was beautiful! Unfortunately the wall looked like it had some kind of mold or black spots on it which is surprising since they said they have only been open for 3-4 months.
On first morning at the breakfast buffet, I got a fried pastry puff and opened it up to see what it was filled with. I was surprised to find 5 ants had been fried into the dough! When I brought it up with staff they took care of it immediately (removed all pastries) and served us smoothies as an apology. But the next day I found a hair in my bamboo leaf wrap sticky rice and a gnat when I poured my coffee (had been a fresh pot). For a 4 star hotel I was quite surprised to have this happen.
We booked on agoda. It said that there was fruit in the room. Unlike some hotels where the fruit is daily, they only have fruit the day of check in.
The lobby staff was friendly, one gentleman on the evening shift (unfortunately I didn't catch his name) was extremely helpful. He helped me order food on grab and even brought up. We were celebrating my son's b-day and they had a small cakes for us in the room.
