My husband and I booked the Grand chic room for 4 nights. The hotel and room completely exceeded our expectations.
We have stayed in many hotels worldwide but the luxurious value-added notwithstanding the price ($115 Canadian per night at the time of this writing) has set the Hoi An Chic retreat apart from the rest.
The staff are friendly, helpful and attentive. The rooms serviced twice daily. Cleanliness was impeccable, no easy feat considering it's a hot and humid country.
The air conditioning worked efficiently and most importantly, quietly ( there were two of them in our suite, one for the bedroom, one for the bathroom tub and shower area). The kind size bed had a luxurious thick mattress topper that felt like you were sleeping on a cloud.
There was a newer Dell laptop for our use in the room and plenty of electrical outlets to plug in our devices for re-charging at night ( we are tech-heavy users and also appreciated the good Wi-Fi in the hotel and in Hoi An in general)
We liked that the retreat was also eco friendly ( reused newspaper folded into bags for lining the waste bins, Grolsch lager and other larger glass bottles used as refillable purified water bottles for use in the room etc.
A mini bar fridge always stocked with cold water.
The breakfasts ( included with the room price) are simply amazing, with everything to cater to Asian, European and Western tastes. Full buffet with a chef standing by to whip up your favorite crepe, pancake or egg based dish, or as in our favorite, a delicious bowl of beef pho ( we are from Canada, so pho was something we had not tried for breakfast before coming to Vietnam, but now we are both hooked on it!).
We also had a snack in their restaurant (spring rolls and salad rolls) both excellent. Especially the spring rolls, as they used the special lacy rice paper wrapping to deep fry into a delicate, crunchy outside. (Imho, they are far superior to the spring rolls served in the famous Morning Glory restaurants in town)
The free bikes were a fun way to explore the city or go to the beach, and their free shuttle service ( usually in a air conditioned van) was also very helpful. My husband particularly enjoyed riding in their war era army keep that you can sometimes get as a shuttle to town.
Overall this resort rates more than 5 stars, and is world class in our opinion. We would definitely recommend the Grand Chic room to anyone looking for a fabulous stay in Hoi An.
