Driving all the way up the mountain was really worthed, the road to the top is newly paved, smooth, with 3 lanes “2 going up, 1 going down” .
There are couple of rest areas along the way equipped with toilets for both males and females.
The main parking area close to the peak is a bit expensive, 20 AED for an hour.
On the day we went there was an 8 degrees temperature difference between the bottom and the top of the mountain .
It was dusty and haze on the day we went so unfortunately we couldn’t observe the sun set. So I suggest to select a day when the visibility is good.
I would assume that this place would be even better if visited during winter and especially during rainy days.
RAK government has invested a lot in this project and eventually this investment will pay back. they have thought of everything, even the charcoal dispensers are available at the parking spots, so that guests can safely discard all the left over charcoal without harming the environment and the place.
For sure I will visit this place again during this coming winter
