Our tour group organisers booked this hotel .We found it tacky and in need of some TLC,or probably needs to be refurbished.Slippers in room were grubby and well used, electrical outlets were dilapidated
,bathroom was unclean with mouldy silicon, and vanity lights not working, cigarette burns on vanity shelf, bits of scotia falling off in bedroom.Everything felt unclean.
All in all not a pleasant experience
Only plus was close to museum and mosque.
Hopefully breakfast may be of a higher standard

Fantastic views and very close to the Mevlana museum and mosque.

The hotel is a bit dated and rickety but very well maintained and has a very helpful staff.

The breakfast was perfect and very filling even though it was a cold one.

The staff barely understand English but they make a large effort to be helpful.

Drinking water is bottled and you will need to ask for it from the reception. Our children enjoyed riding the elevator to go down and get us some bottles for the night everyday.

The hotel is surrounded by markets and you will find many tourist items cost a lot less than Istanbul.

I spent 1 night in this Hotel and unfortunately ended up in a room on the 3rd floor which was smelly and unpleasant.
It seems that there are "smoking" and "non smoking" floors which I later became aware of.
The bright reception is deceptive. My room was very small and the mattress has springs coming through, the sheet was threadbare as were the towels. The blanket looked unwashed and the whole experience was awful.
Breakfast was open buffet located in the basement and was not bad.
The location is minutes from the Museum and central but there are many other hotels nearby which look newer. The tram line is nearby.
There are restaurants within walking distance mostly offering kebab type food.
The back of the hotel is quieter as there are many mosques nearby.

Room Tip: the back room are more quiet the front is noisy.

Mevlana Sema Otel is practically across the road from the Mevlana Museum. It is a great landmark too, if you're new in the city.
The hotel itself is a tad bit gloomy and tired. The rooms could have been bigger. The staff seemed exhausted and reluctant to have a late night visitor. The WiFi worked only in the lobby area - and there too, was a bit scratchy. But if you're in for a couple of nights only - pick this one for location. Otherwise, let it pass.

Hotel location is close to Mevlana Museum just cross the street. Hotel is economical and most of the time you can find a room just walk in but in the season best way book the room before start trip. Hotel staff is nice and helpful.
