Ephesus is a must see whilst in Turkey. Lot's of walking, but well worth it. See the Terrace Houses, (houses of the rich) lot's of steps to climb, these houses date back to the 1st Century BC. Lots of Fresco's on the walls. The Library of Celsius is magnifecent., and impressive. Walking around you can see ruins such as clay pots., and clay pipes that they used way back then for running water into their homes. It can be quite crowded, so be prepared to be walking for a while.
After your tour you are taken to a carpet presentation where you can witness carpets being weaved.

We booked a tour through Regal tours for half a day. With the heat we felt this was long enough. With an excellent guide in Ramazan who was both knowlegable and humourous , we learnt much and had a good tour.

Unforgettable trip!
Before we arrived Istanbul i booked 2 daily tours through best of istanbul tours. Mr Ali assisted us a lot during our purchasing process. First we flew to Ephesus and seen the impressive ruins of Ephesus. It was one of the best daily trip we have ever experienced. Mr Ali was our guide and did a great job. The next day we had an old town tour and discovered the highlights of Istanbul. It was terrific as much as Ephesus. I strongly recommend them for your trips in Turkey. Thank you again for memorable time...

It was magical to stroll through this ancient ruin dating from pre-Christ.We were blown away by the skill of the ancient craftsmen that even piped water into their homes via clay pipes.

Before reaching Turkey i was expecting to see Muslim Architectures, which are rich in carving and am very much fond of them. When we started our trip from Istanbul, we were for in a pleasant surprise, as Turkey is is full of ancient Greek and Roman structures. So many sites to visit in Turkey for ancient history lovers such as Troy, Acropolis in Bergamon, Ephesus in Kushadasi....
the list goes on. We visited 5 - 6 such sites and out of which Ephesus turned out to be the best,
as the site is well preserved but more because of our tour guide , Meral Yesil, who is well informed and fantastic. She had prepared us for the tour by broadly guiding us of what to expect before the start of the walking tour of Ephesus. Keep water and few chocolates with you if you want to see this place thoroughly, which will take about three hours. Keep a hat also as it may get sunny and hot. We were lucky to have Meral as our tour guide and because of her Ephesus is etched in our memory. Turkey was a fabulous life time experience.
