“Dream Villa...”
Reviewed 21 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We recently returned from our stay at Kalamar Dream and all I can say is WOW!

This villa really is a hidden gem in what seems an undiscovered part of Turkey. Peter and Mary the owners were absolutely fantastic. From the very first email from enquiring about the villa, to our return home making sure we had a nice time. Peter was on hand throughout answering any little questions we had and arranging literally everything for us; food shopping (and more importantly alcohol) to be delivered for our evening arrival, recommended restaurants booked, chefs booked, boat trip booked, transfers booked, even to last minute arrangement of transport to local beach club where we could comfortably wait for our airport transfer due to our late flight. I can not speak any more highly of them if I tried. They made our stay very stress free and relaxing which is exactly what a holiday should be!

The villa itself is like something out of MTV Cribs. 4 levels of unspoilt sea views overlooking the bay. Fresh bread bought to your doorstep every morning. 4 out of the 5 rooms having en suites, the only thing I would say is the smaller room is more ideal for kids room with the 2 single beds but we went as a family of 13 (including 2 x infants) and were all more than comfortable and the villas cleanliness and amenities were 5 star!!!

Kalkan itself is a beautiful place. We all got to experience the real Turkey with all the friendly and laid back locals who all seem to have the same 'pay us later' attitude. Kalkan is very hilly so we tended to get a lot of taxis to places as was a bit too hilly to push the prams up the hills in the heat but everything is so cheap there this wasn't an issue, plus the villa is so beautiful and has everything you need in one place that you don't really tend to want to leave it much!

I think its quite rare you find a trip advisor review where no one has a bad thing to say. Very glad we discovered this little gem and will 100% be going back in the future.

“Kalamar Dream - and it is a dream!”
Reviewed 14 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

So relaxing, so comfy, so spoilt!! With the perfect weather for relaxing and enjoying the villa, the local area and the beautiful views. The pool to dip in and out of, the abundance of comfy chairs and loungers to relax in. Plus having a room with a terrace and a wet room.
Great holiday!! This is the second time I've stayed there and I recommend the villa to anyone.

We have stayed in Kalkan for many years. This is one of the best villas we have stayed in. We would thoroughly recommend it for large families with very small children as we had. There were plenty of cots pushchairs high chairs etc. also our sons and daughters in laws lived the games room under the house. We felt you could walk into Kalkan but need a taxi back wihich is a few lira. We had cleaners around twice in two weeks which was good. Plenty of outside space on ground floor and roof terrace. The owners could not have been more helpful anything we wanted was arranged.

“Gorgeous, spacious villa with stunning views!”
Reviewed 5 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

I'm genuinely in tears to be back!
The villa was spacious and immaculately clean with amazing views! Everything you could possibly need. Having water coolers throughout the villa with cold bottled water on tap was fantastic. Towels, bedding and toilet rolls too! Anything you didn't have could be bought and delivered from the local supermarket! Peter (owner) was incredibly helpful before and during our stay and was available at any time to help and advise.
.
We were 2 families with babies/toddlers and it was perfect. No pool fence but visibility of the pool from inside the house so no problem and the pool has proper steps rather than a ladder so perfect for kids. Lovely and warm too - Thanks Peter!
Everything in the description is true :-). The only thing I would say is that Kalkan is a beautiful hillside harbour town and the villa is located up a hill so be prepared! However, compared to many other villas and locations in Kalkan, this is one of the less steep places! Based on a comfortable paced stroll It is a 20-25 minute walk into town or a 5-10 minute walk to local restaurants/shops. I loved Kalkan and will definitely be returning but if you have mobility issues, it probably isn't the ideal destination for you unless you are prepared to get taxis everywhere (cheap- average 12-15 TL into town). The only other thing to mention would be the local dogs. They seem to keep themselves to themselves and don't hassle you but they do roam the streets and bark at each other. They aren't too much to worry about unless, like my Mother-in-law, you're nervous of dogs, in which case you may want to avoid the evening stroll back from town. Of course you could just stay at the villa all day and relax with the stunning views! We had a chef (Kazim) come to cook one day for us in the villa - wow! Awesome food and very reasonably priced. Peter can share the details.
Important note to parents - If you can then definitely take your car seats with you. Despite ordering baby and toddler seats with the transfer company (others too) they either don't have any, provide the wrong size, don't fit the car or are clearly just cheap nasty seats. Be warned/prepared!
Apart from that, I could go on with my glowing review but if I carried on with how great this place is then I might find no availability when I want to visit again next time!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful villa with our family. Plenty of space for everyone and the pool and games room were very popular. Lots of little extras made the holiday special and the owner couldn't have been more helpful, getting shopping in for our arrival and taking us to change our currency. We have been to Kalkan before and would recommend both the town and the villa.
