I have stayed at the Thalassa Monastir Hotel with my Dad for a weeks all inclusive break from 25th March through to 1st April, chosen as this is apparently a Thomson Platinum Hotel.
We had sterling currency taken from our room on two occasions, £40 then £30 so ensure you take the safe and use it!!!
Hotel was nice but not the best we have been to.
Don't buy your Dinars at Manchester as we did as the exchange rate at the hotel is far higher.
Staff were all very nice although rather slow in bringing drinks, possibly due to us going out of season.
On the beach you can expect to be constantly hounded by people trying to sell cigarettes, jewellery etc - my advice is don't take anything from them and just walk on when they insist in giving you anything from a nut to eat to a toy camel.
The spa offer a variety of services, I had a back massage and what they called a manicure which I did not rate particularly high but for £12.50 I suppose you get what you pay for.
The Thomson rep isn't based at the hotel and her hours are weird and wonderful, she is new to the resort and really doesn't give you the information you require for your stay at the hotel.
You are entitled to use the 'themed' restaurants once a week on your stay if all inclusive - we only found this out by accident and ended up the only people dining in the a la carte restaurant on our last night so obviously the other guests were unaware of this entitlement.
All in all, 9 out of 10 for the hotel, weather 6 days out of 7 were nice, one rainy, pools lovely but very, very cold. Staff excellent although we had the loss of money we were overall satisfied by the attitude of the general staff and didn't feel we could hold them soley responsible as we should have used the safe.
Lots of different nationalities so you can sit at the pool and watch the world at play.
Food fine - something for everyone. Entertainment - the staff tried hard.
Didn't like Tunisia as a country therefore will not be returning due to how dirty the trains and Sousse are but the hotel was lovely.

we did have a great time there .But it was overshadowed by an employee at the hotel stealing my mothers foreign currency, we did not get our money back but we were given an upgrade to one of the main suites, and also given free drinks throughout our entire stay .We were also given free nights out at the local kebab shop plus autographs from all the international acts they had at the annimation theatre. We were also given a room next to Celine Dion who was one of the acts that week. The standard of the entertainment was overwhelming. There was also a guest appearance from Liberace via a spiritualist special link up it was a night to remember. There was also a night with international magician Paul Danials he made all the mosquitos disappear, his wife done some amazing tricks with triple summersaults in the international pool.

We have just returned fron thalassa after 7 days there and apart from the first day the weather was excellent. The rooms were clean beds lovely and cosy and the pillows to die for. The food was very well presented and there was always something different on the menu .We stayed there on an all inclusive basis and as lunch finished at 2.30. there wasn`t any snacks available until 7o`clock when dinner was served . This may be different in the height of the season though ,as the pool bar and beach bar were both closed when we were there in november, this meant the poor wee waiter had to carry our drinks all the way from the bar upstairs . .. The entertainment was only what can be expected abroad ,so we made our own with the excellent company we met from aberdeen . kilbirnie and dundee. We would definately go back there but earlier on in the season

Hotel Thalassa provided a beautiful setting for a fantastic holiday .
The beach was very well kept and was extreemly clean and the clients were very well catered for by the friendly staff.
The rooms were well kept and agreeably spacious as we had a pool and sea view which had a fantastic outlook.
There were many positive aspects about the hotel which in our and many others were overshadowed by many rude Germans who wanted to blow smoke while we were dining in the restaurant without any consideration for others. We were falsly led to believe it was a totally non smoking hotel.
The evning entertainment was dull as the cocktail bar provided a group twice a week. They also had animation which sent most people rushing for the nearest exit. The staff were all friendy, but there is always one bad one ,a lady receptionist who was rude to so many customers she was like a ghost, a dead person without any customer service skills.
