Make sure you walk around the grounds and sit on the verandah for a spell. Get the feel of living in the era. Lovely

I visted Boldt Castle back in the late 60's as a teenager. I choose Feb 2012 so that I could post.At that time it was owned by the state and in ruins. It's just amazing to me to see the restoration pictures. Let me add, at the time I was there the island and castle had pall of sadness hanging in the around it, especially the basement. it's now a beautiful place and I hope the feeling is long gone.

Apart from very long line ups to get over to the Island from Alexandria Bay, the castle itself is interesting and the grounds beautiful. There is a lot of restoration going on, but it doesn't interfere with the experience. Something to see as how the rich lived.

A picturesque location. Takes a little time to get to. Improving year to year. Not great for young kids.
