Went walking here in the morning and got some great pictures. I would probably look elsewhere for a "day at the beach" type thing, but it provides great views for all the business along the beach. People walk and do yoga on the pier in the morning.

The social implications for these people is sad, a whole way of life destroyed. It's ok but can be a bit stinky if you're not a fish fan or like super clean environments.

It's not a Beach for swimming but I don't know any other location in Phuket like this beautiful beach with original long tail boats and a promenade for walking and sitting directly at the beach and get your thai food served.

You can start the day with a boat trip to some of the islands nearby, later enjoy a traditional Thai Massage at Welcome Massage for example.

Than have a drink in one of the Bars like Candy on the Beach watching the sunset and just have a dinner at one of the many restaurants with delicious thai food at the promenade, sometimes a little bit noisy if traffic gets busy after sunset.

So there's one very quit place called Ban Rimlay direct at the beach with wonderful big old trees and very tasteful Thai and European food.

After Dinner you can enjoy again the bars at Rawai Beach with some nightlife.
