We booked Serenity Resort after reading the recommendations of other Trip Advisors (thanks all!) and were expecting nothing short of excellence - and that is exactly what we got! It was one of the most excellent and perfect hotel stays I have ever had.

Upon arrival we were given a cool welcome drink while being registered. We were also upgraded from a one-bed to a two-bedroomed suite with a sea view - it seems that the hotel tries to give its guests the best experience possible and (from reading other posts here) frequently upgrades people.

When we entered our suite (number 825) we were immediately hit with one of Serenity's "WOW" factors - the suite is huge and luxuriously outfitted (see the pictures on their website - what you see there is exactly what you get :-) ). The large balcony has a table and four chairs if one wants to dine out there, and two loungers for sunbathing or just relaxing. From our balcony, we had a view over the swimming pool, East 88 restaurant and the sea. While we were there (10th to 14th February), a lovely cool breeze was blowing off the sea both day and night - this made sitting on our balcony even more enjoyable.

The room has a well stocked kitchen (you could even cook a meal if so inclined) including champagne glasses, read and white wine glasses, and other assorted drinks glasses - and the large fridge has an assortment of wines too! There is a large dining table with six chairs, and a separate sitting area with a large flat screen TV (complete with DVD player to play the DVD you can borrow from reception).

There were two large double bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. We used the slightly larger one that opens directly onto the sitting room. The bed is very comfortable (neither too soft nor too hard) and four pillows are provided - however, there is also a pillow menu so everyone will be able to have the most appropriate pillow for their circumstances - we used those already there as these suited us. There were two sets of wardrobes with plenty of hangers (I hate when hotels only provide 4 or 5!), and within these were a safe and two sets of dressing gowns and slippers (we saw many people using these to go down to the hotel's spa).

The bathroom was big with a separate toilet - there was a large bath / jacuzzi and a separate shower that had both an overhead rain-shower and a wall mounted angled shower. Importantly for me, the water pressure was very strong. When you arrive in your room, you are presented with a choice of soaps, shower gels and shampoos - do choose the lemon-grass which smells wonderful, even to a guy!

The second bedroom and en suite bathroom were similarly outfitted.

Overall, the room ( .. er .. the suite!) gets top marks! The only drawback about such a luxurious room is the strong temptation not to go out - some afternoons we came back to the hotel just to enjoy the room and balcony! So I strongly recommend you book a suite rather than the basic room.

The hotel restaurant, East 88, and the bar, are on opposite sides of the swimming pool, and both are against the seawall - at full tide the sea is up against this wall and at low tide recedes quite a distance. This tidal area provides a very safe area for boating or kite-surfing (popular in the area) as the water is only about waist deep even at full tide. The downside is that the water is far out at low tide.

Breakfast is served in the East 88 restaurant and there is a wide choice of both western and Asian foods. There is an egg station from where you can have eggs cooked any style; a waffle station; and a hot buffet of bacon, ham, sausages, hash browns, etc - usually there are also rice and noodles, with two choices of accompanying local dishes. There are also 'cold cuts' of meats, smoked salmon (this was delicious!), and sushi, as well as fresh fruits and a variety of breads. So, top marks for breakfast too!

We don't usually use hotel spas in Thailand as there are lots of massage shops everywhere. However, when we checked in, we were given a voucher for a 15 minute "head, shoulder and neck" massage in the hotel spa. This was so good we immediately booked a package. As other posters have noted, this makes the spa very popular, so I recommend that you have the free massage as soon as possible and then make reservations.

This hotel is definitely a "resort" in that you don't need to go out for anything - as well as the delightful rooms, the staff are so friendly and helpful, and many of them flash that big Thai smile when you meet them - especially Jaem in East 88 restaurant (she simply radiates happiness!).

Serenity is one of those hotels that is in itself a reason to visit a place! We will certainly be back.

Room Tip: Get a suite with a seaview!

Great resort with superb hospitality and views. We checked in and got complimentary upgrade to a pool & sea facing suite. Pool side restaurant (East88) and bar were amazing with good quality food and drinks. Room rates according to the quality are good. Free shuttle transfer to Patong was helpful. My sincere thanks to all the employees and management of the resort. We will return back to you for sure in the future.

Room Tip: Grand sea view suite will be good if you want it to be extra spacious.

Very Nice hotel, charming and calm. My boyfriend and I went there for 12 nights. As it was the low season in august and the enxt room was under construction, we asked for having a better room. We finally got a very nice suite for the same price, with a seaview. The staff is very nice, you can ask anything you would like to. Very good memory. The only bad point to improve is the staff English language. It was not always easy to make understand ourselves. But all the rest was perfect: the restaurant, the spa, the localisation (away from Phuket mess!!, more romantic).

We treated ourselves to one of the two H2O suites, situated at the highest point of the beautiful resort, which boasted it's own private rooftop pool & truly stunning views! It was well worth the additional cost & was absolutely ideal for our Honeymoon, I/we would strongly recommend it to any Honeymooner's thinking of staying at Serenity. The hotel had heart & soul, which is uncommon nowadays, in a market dominated by mainstream hotel brands. The staff were incredible, so friendly & helpful. The bar/restaurant (East 88) was brilliant, we both really enjoyed the themed menus that were laid on frequently. We had an unforgettable experience & hope to return in the future.

Room Tip: Invest in the H2O Suite! Well worth it...

It was an amazing experiance to be @ serinity....it was like a dream honeymoon.....we wanted a place which was secluded and out of the husle & bustle of the city....serinity was perfect....thanks to the management, we were upgrated to a pool recidence......it was nothing short of a paradise on earth...the view was just out of the world....staff were very helpful, especially Mann (Hope i got the name correct). He helped us through out our stay....Food was also top class .....the breakfast has varied options......and just sitting at 88 East admist the beautiful sceneary doubled the taste of the food.
People say a lot about the location, but i would suggest take a bike (which is available just outside the resort) it doubles the pleasure of being in phuket.
Serinity is still not out of our minds, we miss the amazing pool and sea view from our room....Will be there again surely...
Thanks Serinity for making our honeymoon speacial.
Cheers

Room Tip: Honeymooners pick the pool recidence, it the best you can dream of.....
