“Great hotel”
Reviewed 7 February 2012

We stayed for 10 nights in January in a deluxe room 7215. After reading so many good reviews we were expecting a lot and were not disappointed if anything it was better than we expected. Most of the reviews are very accurate so not a lot to add except that the pool attendant every now again made a sweep of the sun beds and any that had been unoccupied for some time had the towels and belongings taken off which meant there were always sun beds available (well done Amari). The restaurants and main bar are excellent with fabulous views if the hotel could reduce the prices then a lot more people would use them as it is a lot cheaper to eat and drink in Patong. TIPS Gala Dinner on a Saturday night is good. Some restaurants in Patong include a service charge and others don’t so check your bill. Would I recommend the Amari the answer is yes. Would I go back to the Amari the answer is yes.

This hotel is on the periphery of Patong and about a 10 minute walk away - downhill going but a bit of a climb back (200 baht tuk tuk ride or taxi anywhere in Patong). It's has a very open (no windows) layout for the public areas which makes it airy and most welcoming in the heat of the day. The staff are very polite, helpful and most efficient. There are a lot of steps to this hotel and there is a lift but it doesn't get you to all of the areas. Our room was 1205 which gave us a sea view apart from the coconut tree! Some rooms although having a sea view look over the roof of the bedroom block in front of them so not ideal. The hotel supplies 2 bottles of water a day to your room and there was a fruit plate on arrival. In the wardrobe the hotel has supplied each room with a woven beach bag for use during your stay - a very good idea and most useful. The bed and pillows were most comfortable but the bathroom was a little on the small side. The choice at breakfast was huge and the restaurant has one of the most beautiful settings I've ever had breakfast in. There are 2 swimming pools but we preferred the larger one - happy hour at 5pm by the pool and a quartet plays and sings there about 5.30 pm. The same quartet plays later in the bar area in the evening where there is another happy hour. A most enjoyable stay in this hotel and I would definitely pick it again when I visit Phuket.

Returned yesterday from 10 nights at the Amari and can only agree with all the other reviews that the hotel has the best location in Patong. We had a deluxe room (7307) which was very spacious and had a gorgeous view of the Andaman Sea. The staff were all lovely and the hotel's manager would be seen every day chatting to guests and asking if they were having a good time. The breakfast buffet was extensive and all the food we had around the pool etc was excellent.Ther were always sunbeds available around the pool with a plentiful supply of towels. It is doubtful that we will return to Patong as we found it all a bit too busy but I hope that we will stay in another Amari hotel somewhere else.

Room Tip: Rooms on the third floor of block 7 have the best views.

Great location on a private cove south of all the craziness of town. The beds are comfortable, sheets are good, breakfast is better than average. Grounds are kept up well. Rooms could use a fresh coat of paint, but they are clean. Room service delivered very quickly.
Everyone was friendly, with the exception of Pat at the Tour Desk. When we didn't want to go with her "preferred" tours, she was very rude, got on the phone and then ignored us. We felt like she just wanted to close the sale. Not good. The Bell Staff were very helpful with where to go.
Will plan another stay, but for us, we can only take Patong for so long, before we need more calm and relaxation.

Stayed at this hotel with my husband and two daughters. We loved everything about it, a little away from the main 'drag' so nice and quiet but just a short walk when we wanted to be in the 'hub' of the action. A good choice of dining within the hotel and entertainment provided some evenings, food excellent, buffet breakfast fantastic. Beautiful pools here also. Our ajoing rooms were also very nice with balcony and views to die for. Would highly recommend to anybody. On this trip we also stayed three nights each at two other Amari Hotels in Bangkok and Chang Mai. Can' t wait to go back
